BLENHEIM SPRING SHOWS
What is the magic!!

You might say "The Magic" is driving into the facility beside the beautiful hills...you might say it is the location so close to the pacific coast...you might say its a staff that completely knows it's job...you might say the charming little town of San Juan Capistrano and the Swallows and the Mission...you could say it is the very wide choice of restaurants...or the train station ....or SO many other factors. OR you might be more correct to say it is ALL of these and many more.

All we know is that the Blenheim shows, and the management, are one of the consistent parts of our west coast sports. We know exactly what it is about it we love..and we know it will consistently be there. SO I'll post some pictures that sort of says it all and I'll let you enjoy them, and tell you to never underestimate this management...there are A LOT of new programs on the drawing board.

AND we especially thank them for the effort they put into the development of our Young Horses!! The thought of free entries for these horses started right here at Blenheim. Along with the efforts to make showing those horses less expensive, they are making a difference!

A part of these shows we especially enjoy are the people of the sport, in great variety. I'll put a few here for you to enjoy, they are pretty fun. (go to www.ijumpsports.com - Caught on Camera) for many many more.

REMEMBER, WE COME BACK HERE FOR ANOTHER MONTH IN A FEW WEEKS...DON'T MISS IT.

AND IF DOGS COULD SPEAK... they would tell us their opinion..... so instead they did in these pictures  !!!!!

ON A PERSONAL NOTE....WE CAN DO BETTER!!!!!
I thought a long time about doing this part of the iJump newsletter blast or not... do I or don't !?? Who will be mad at me now?? Who doesn't give a rat's butt about what I think? What is happening to us.....
HOW CAN WE POSSIBLE EXPECT OUR KIDS OR THE NEXT GENERATION OF TRAINERS TO DO IT BETTER??
We can't unless it starts with us in the barns....
I THINK IT'S CALLED RESPECT!

I had to go back to Blenheim on Easter Sunday to pick up some equipment from a barn heading to Canada. I drove through the barns and this is a SMALL SMALL sampling of what I found! The hole in the ground I found "literally by accident"  just before I ended up face first on the road (where the hole was). Someone (I know who!!) dug several of these holes in front of their set up - out in the road- for big plants for their set up, and when they left they took the plants and left these holes for someone like me to come around a truck and find it with my foot!!!

I WAS SAD!! THE PICTURES OF THE RIBBONS THROWN ON THE GROUND, SOME WERE FROM A CLASS I SPONSORED....MOST FROM OTHER SPONSORED CLASSES INCLUDING THE DERBY AND THE CLASSICS AND INCLUDED THE BIG SASHES! SHAME ON NOT ONLY THIS PARTICULAR BARN BUT THE OTHER 6 TACK ROOMS WITH THE SAME THING!!!

Do we win too much that it doesn't matter and these ribbons become trash??? PROBABLY SO if these ribbons matter so little and are treated with such disrespect!! Blenheim has a recycle program if you don't want your ribbons... how about taking advantage of it!!
ANOTHER SUGGESTION..bring them to the iJump trailer and I'll take them to the Joswick Therapeutic Riding center, there are people/kids with bigger problems than ours that will LOVE AND CRY for these ribbons that we just throw on the ground!!!!

BUT TO BE CLEAR, THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF JUST ABOUT ANY SHOWGROUNDS ANYWHERE IN THE USA!!!

There's an old cowboy saying ...
"Never leave a place like you found it....either leave it BETTER OR DON'T GO!!!

OK, off my soap box now.....

Sorry if I embarrass someone here....these are pictures of Susie Hutchison, Hap Hansen and Mike Edricks's tack rooms just as they drove out. There were others too but these are 3 good examples ....THANK YOU to the amazing grooms who care and don't leave till its ALL clean!!!
