Prayers for the Entertainment Industry
Dear HPN members,

We are excited to give you a new updated, shorter version of our Monthly HPN Prayer Newsletter. It’s now going to come to you twice a month (on the first and third Wednesday), but it’s going to be shorter, faster, and hopefully easier to read and pray through. So, hang in there with us through our transition to the HPN CALL SHEET and please let us know what you think about the changes. Just reply to this email and give us feedback. In the meantime, here we go with our first one – and you can watch the video below for more explanation of the new format.
The 70th Emmy Awards

The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards were held this past Monday, September 17th in Los Angeles. The ceremony was hosted by SNL's Colin Jost and Michael Che. Let's pray for the hearts of both of the hosts, as well as the winners and all the nominees, especially as they receive increased (or decreased) media coverage and attention. Let's also pray for TV audiences to see elements of God's character in the shows they watch and let's pray that God will use all TV content for His glory!
Pray for safety for stunt performers

Please pray for Laurie Singer and all of the other stunt performers who have been injured, and even killed, while working on film and TV projects. They need to be protected more for the dangerous work that they're asked to do. Laurie, a member of HPN, asks for our prayers as she is forced to take legal action. Since her accident, she has been in constant pain, not able to work, and in and out of the hospital with multiple surgeries. May the Lord change the hearts of the people hiring all of the stunt performers in our industry and may He make the way for safety enforcement and a serious change in safety protocol!
InterFaith Film & Music Festival in New York

Pray for the upcoming InterFaith Film & Music Festival, taking place in New York City from Nov. 30th - Dec. 2nd. The festival will showcase all types of faith in film, media, and art through screenings, panels, and meetups. The event will aim to promote unity and respect across lines of differing spiritual backgrounds. Let's pray that the Christians there will stand out both in their excellent creative content and in their quality of character. We also must recognize the prominence of the creative industry in New York and remember to pray for production cities all over the world. Hollywood is not just in California anymore!
Pray for the impact of Last Man Standing

Actress Amanda Fuller says Last Man Standing is "one of the only shows that reflects real families," and the cast hopes that the characters' candid conversations about politics can help heal relationships in our country's families, workplaces, and even churches. They want the show to help people communicate better on all topics. So, let's pray for the entire cast and crew to have a positive and growing experience while creating and shooting the show, and for the audience to be influenced in a way that is beneficial and healing.
Ashton Kutcher and his Thorn foundation

Actor Ashton Kutcher recently asked for prayer for his foundation, Thorn, that helps combat human trafficking through digital tools. Thorn's website states that it has identified nearly 6,000 human trafficking victims and is working to rescue them, and also has deterred thousands of abusers from capturing children. We thank God for the difference Kutcher's organization has made in saving children's lives, and pray for the resources and support that it needs to continue and increase its impact. Kutcher is committed to the fight so let's encourage him with our prayers!
Pray for the members of U2

Pray for Bono and all the members of U2 as they celebrate the 30 year anniversary of their album Rattle and Hum. U2 has had both a powerful social and spiritual impact on audiences and listeners across the globe through their spiritually undergirded hit songs and concerts. As a committed Christian, Bono opens up his spiritual journey through his lyrics and he has moved millions of people a step closer to God because of his work. May the Lord continue to bless the work of U2.
Thanks so much for spending this month praying with us for Hollywood and the global entertainment industry. Please keep lifting up the projects and the issues that impact the entire planet and the people’s hearts who make the decisions and create the stories that we all enjoy. And don't hesitate to reply and send us your feedback on our new (and hopefully improved) HPN Call Sheet!

— Karen, Erin, Kim, and Virginia
