What a blessing to join the Calvary Church, Naperville construction team in Puerto Rico. With major damage to all 4 of the Puerto Rico TC ministry sites, the arrival of the Calvary team, was right on time. Four months since the hurricane,-still over 1/2 million are without power including 3 of 4 TC facilities.
Under the leadership of Wanda Burgund and Pastor Alberto Lopez, these 33 workers labored tirelessly- painting, repairing, and doing electrical wiring to the Buena Vista facility as well as demo of the Vocational Shop.
Painting, rewiring, replacing the ceilings and restoring the dining hall and demo on the Vocational shop destroyed by the hurricanes

We brought "Beans, Rice & Jesus Christ" to La Perla, one of Old San Juan's most notorious drug communities.
St Thomas
Come with us on the 60 foot Jesus Gypsy as Team Hope from Puerto Rico Teen Challenge travels to devastated St. Thomas, in September 2017.
As we ministered in Puerto Rico and St. Thomas this week, I reminded the people, the storm did not take anything that you can take to heaven with you. What God has for us is better than any possession on this earth. Eternity is forever. Lift up your eyes. Look past the storm, past what you have lost, to what God can give you. Forget about North Korea, nuclear threats, petty political differences and fake news. Do not be paralyzed by finance, fear, or accusation. Stand strong in Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit with your eyes to the sky. In the end, what God wants to do IN you is always greater than what anyone or anything can do TO you.
Full Body Evangelical Pentecostal Church
The rainbow over the church reminded us of God's unchanging love. The storm has passed and 4 months after the devastation of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, Charlotte Amalie and St Thomas are coming back strong. We distributed over 16,000 pounds of supplies with them and returned to minister to the folks at Full Body Evangelical Pentecostal Church.
God moved powerfully in services and we were blessed to stand with them for miracles, salvation and healing. Four months ago, despite the fact that 189 mile per hour winds had ripped the back off of their church building, they focused on reaching out--rescuing people from homes and meeting practical needs and ministering along with the TCPR relief team.
To stand where the wall had been ripped out and to see God move was a real honor.

But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw God's glory and Jesus standing at the right side of God. “Look!” he said. “I see heaven opened and the Son of Man standing at the right side of God.
Acts 7:55-56

Facing a new year, filled with uncertainty and legitimate concerns, we can only rely on God’s wisdom and unchanging covenant love. The challenges of 2018, from political concerns, storms, natural disasters, and the threat of international terrorism and war, could easily paralyze us if we surrender. Do not settle for a little bit of revelation. God’s love is way too big for that.

God is calling us to lift our eyes above the circumstances. It is time for the church to stand up and be counted for the name of Jesus rather than cowering in fear of accusations made against faith and the absolute authority of God’s Word. Stephen began as a small part of the church feeding program, but his accurate impassioned plea on behalf of the truth of Jesus paved the way for Saul’s conversion even as the establishment erupted in murderous rage.

They rushed at Stephen. One man grabbed his arm. Another elbowed in to grab a fistful of his tunic, twisting his garment and shoving him down. They seized him by the neck, driving him forward, knocking him to the ground kicking, battering, and berating him. They spit, they ground their teeth, they growled like dogs and hissed like snakes. They dragged him through the streets hurling insults and accusations.

Before long, someone grabbed a rock and hurled it at him releasing a homicidal frenzy as they began pelting him with rocks and stones.  At first, he may have tried to fend them off with his arms, but blow after blow robbed his resolve at the hands of this savage mob. His body battered and strength beginning to wane, the stones came fast and hard. Dust mingled with blood as he slumped to the street in a heap.

I wonder if he silently cried out, “God? Where are you? Don’t you see this? Can’t you see what is happening? Lord look at what they are doing to me?”At this precise moment, battered, beaten and bruised, Stephen made the most important decision of his life. He didn't look at his accusers or focus on the circumstances. He did not yield to the pain of each missile that pelted his body. He looked up.

But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw God's glory and Jesus standing at the right side of God. “Look!” he said. “I see heaven opened and the Son of Man standing at the right side of God!”

One view of heaven changed everything. We know from the Gospels, Ephesians and Revelation, that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God. But in this vision, Jesus is standing. I believe it is because He stood to welcome His servant home. The Father knew what Stephen was going through, but more than that-He knew Stephen was COMING THROUGH!

The bible says that Stephen was full of the Holy Spirit. Is it possible that the greatest infilling comes, not in blessing, but adversity? I’m not sure what you’re facing, but it is likely not as bad as those final moments for Stephen. Still, he gives us a great lesson. He lifted up his eyes and left us 3 lessons.

1) It was the power of the Holy Spirit he needed most, not power, position, or someone to defend him.

2) When he looked up he saw God. When our focus turns from earth to the eternal, we see God. When you see Him, circumstances become secondary.

Reaching Addicts in LaPerla
3. Stephen not only delivered God’s message boldly, he personified grace in truth. In the end, he modeled the Love of  Jesus, asking forgiveness for the murderous mob, even as they tried to take his life. They could not take his life! His life was in heaven, where Jesus stood to welcome him home to live forever.

Dare to live with confident expectation. Wave goodbye to the ordinary and expect the supernatural. Lift up your eyes-God is waiting. (return to top)

1) NAIROBI, Kenya:

Please join us in prayer for an amazing time of ministry in Kenya for their 10th Anniversary Celebration and Spiritual Emphasis week. We will join Founder and Pioneer of TC Kenya, John Martin, Job Wanyama, executive director of TC Kenya and Rev. Ron Brown, executive director of Teen Challenge Southern California.

As Executive Director, Ron Brown oversees the ministry of Teen Challenge Southern California and its ten ministry locations, including centers headquartered in Kern County, Ventura/Tri-County, Los Angeles County, Orange County, Inland Empire, San Diego County and Central Valley. He has been instrumental in helping Teen Challenge Kenya to pioneer a Teen Challenge Ministry Institute in Nairobi, Kenya.

2) OTTAWA, Canada

OTTAWA: Under the direction of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the governing liberals are pushing through legislation to legalize marijuana making Canada only the second nation in the world (after Uruguay) to fully legalize this dangerous, gateway drug.

Last November, Bill C-45, the “Cannabis Act”, passed the House of Commons with full liberal support. Now it only remains to be approved by the Senate before receiving royal assent. The Senate is scheduled to return from Christmas break on January 30th. When the senators return, they can vote on C-45 at any time! Pray for our dear fiends to the north. When we were in Canada, some political leaders extolled the benefits of this law, promising that significant funding could be diverted to Teen Challenge from taxes collected.

Despite clear medical evidence of the dangers of THC on brain development in adolescents, the law will allow 11 year-olds to possess up to 5 grams (10 joints.) Bill C-45 allows anyone over age 17 to freely possess marijuana in any amount. It only restricts their “public” use (and sharing) of the drug to 30 grams at a time (equal to 60 joints).). Growing marijuana plants at home is also permitted. Canada is set to become a druggie haven!

3) Pray for the Hanson Family-GTC Staff

Caleb, son of Tim and Elizabeth Hanson, was struck by a car and fatally injured last week. Although everyone will miss him terribly, we also rejoice that he is no longer suffering. We know that he is with Jesus. Elizabeth shared some things that Caleb told them during the 3 days or so before he went home to be with the Lord., including a dream about going to heaven that he had two nights before he was struck by a car. Please pray for the family-it is still difficult to rejoice when your heart is broken.

Here is an exciting update from TC Belgium. Join us to pray for their emerging work. Outreach programs on the streets of Charleroi are forming. For the past year a small team of volunteers have been going one evening per week to abandoned buildings and areas in the Charleroi region.

The Coffeehouse continues to meet every Saturday in Dampremy with an average of thirty participants. Connections are being made with members of other cities in order to start or support similar programs elsewhere (La Louvière, Mons, Namur, and Liège). Please pray for staff, finances, students and in general, all people involved in the Séla House.

Pray for staff needs-they have an open position -at Sela House. If you are called to ministry in Belgium, click for a job description and contact them directly

5) TC Novi Saad,Serbia

Here is a powerful update from TC Serbia. Join us to pray for their students.

6) Puerto Rico

Please continue to pray for Teen Challenge Puerto Rico--for electricity, finances, repairs, food, and water. They are getting close to one million pounds of food-tarps-generators and supplies distributed across the island. Not only are they working hard to restore their own devastated facilitates, they continue to reach out to the community and minister to the needs across the island.
Has your church or Teen Challenge center considered sending a construction team to Puerto Rico?

Pray with us for the global advance of the gospel. Pray for workers for the Harvest ...Teen Challenge Centers in 120 countries need staff and we currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in over 32 new nations. They are crying out for help. They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT.
MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples,
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send
out workers into His harvest.”
