Celebration Sunday: Light the Fire
On Sunday, September 17, during and after each worship service, join us for a special Sunday of stories, worship, and intergenerational activities.

Our theme for this Celebration Sunday is "Light The Fire." Through special elements of worship and intergenerational activities downstairs, you will get to explore how you can be and already are a light to others. And together we’ll rediscover how this faith community can keep everyone’s flames burning bright. Everyone is invited, and we hope you can be here with us!

Join us at 9am, 11am, or 12:45pm (Spanish) worship, followed by interactive, fun, and thought-provoking activities for adults and children alike downstairs after each service. Join us in exploring how we can brighten the world together.
Why Everyone Can Be A Part Of Sunday School This Year
Pastor Danielle is seeking volunteers to be part of a newly imagined Sunday School program this year. One strength of the program is that it offers a great deal of flexibility for volunteers and teachers, creating the possibility for lots of new people (you?) to be involved. It doesn’t take much, even just one Sunday a month and a level of involvement that is right for you. Talk to Pastor Danielle about how you might be able to be part of Sunday School this year. She would welcome your email at

In addition, the third Sunday of every month will be an intergenerational Sunday School, inviting all people of all ages to come learn side by side through specially designed activities. If you thought you were too old for Sunday School, start reconsidering, because these are going to be fun. All are welcome to join. Sunday School will begin regularly after our Celebration Sunday on September 17 (see above).
Conversational Spanish Class
Nearly one third of our congregation speaks Spanish. As we live into being a bilingual congregation, we’re seeking new ways to create community across language barriers. Come join our new conversational Spanish class at 2pm on Mondays starting September 18. We are also looking into the possibility of adding more times. Stay tuned!
Covering the Organ
Next time you're in our sanctuary you may notice that our organ is covered in plastic sheets. Don't worry, our organ is doing just fine! Both the scaffolding on Broadway, and the plastic covering the organ are due to construction on The Narragansett, our next door neighbor.

They are refurbishing their brickwork, so our organ service company has covered the organ to prevent dust and dirt damaging it while workers walk on our roof and work above it. This has taken place at the Narragansett's expense. Unfortunately, we cannot use the organ while it is covered. We look forward to its sounds enriching our worship again sometime between mid-September and mid-October.

A Conversation on Disaster Response
With Hurricane Harvey sweeping the nation, our upcoming Adult Conversation on disaster response seems to have landed at a time when the topic is on all our minds again.

All summer long, our Adult Conversations from 10:10am to 10:50am on Sunday mornings have focused on a series of social issues, including climate justice, anti-racism, and LGTBQ advocacy. Our final topic will be disaster response on Sunday, September 10. Join us for an open and informative conversation.
