Celebrating 175 years of Family Farming on Nantucket

The more things change, the more they stay the same. You can still find Phil on a tractor anytime there's work to be done in the fields.

Blooming Creations is Open

Bring out your empty window boxes and containers and let our creative and talented staff plant them for you!

Time To Plant!

Geraniums have been popular with
gardeners for generations.
These tough, full-sun plants will give you a big 'bang for your buck' as they bloom all summer with proper care.
Water when dry, feed every couple weeks (follow the label directions) pinch off the dead blossoms, and your window boxes and containers will look great for months.

Beans, Beans
Growing vegetables with kids is the best kind of nature's classroom! And beans (of all sorts) are a nice place to start. They grow quickly, and with the proper trellis, pole beans will grow taller than your child.  What a great way to learn everything from germination to harvesting and cooking!
Plus you can share the great kids song...
Beans Beans, The Musical Fruit

From the Kitchen

Don't let this Scallion Hummus trick you
into thinking it's guacamole!
No, it is a delicious scallion, chickpea and parsley puree created in the farm kitchen.  Find it in cooler around the corner from the kitchen counter.
You'll also find other new products like Chipotle Mayonnaise, which is perfect for burritos, sandwiches,
sushi, or seared tuna!

So many new products landing in the Market!

Stone fruits signal that summer is indeed on its way, even if the weather doesn't seem like it! Peaches, white peaches and nectarines are in the market every day. There are tons of new products all around the market, so be sure to look around when you get here.

Drink Mixes, Easy to Make Dinners,
Apps, and more!

Bring the kids... & find Ben and Jerry!

Ben and Jerry have decided they are going to
hide somewhere on the farm every day!
They could be hiding anywhere customers are allowed to go.
If your child finds one of these rascals, bring them back to the Farm Hand Stand to collect your reward!
Every night when we close, Ben and Jerry will wander off
and hide again.

Behind The Scenes

Insects are a fact of life - and since we don't want to spray unnecessarily, we monitor populations with the yellow sticky cards (left) and introduce beneficial species like lacewing larvae (right)
Do you know someone who used to work at the farm?
Let them know about this special farm-alumni event we will be
holding in July.

Who's Your Farmer? Get to know our staff!

Meet Whitney Butler, Customer Service Manager

Q.  How long have you been at Bartlett’s Farm?
A. May 2012, I was actually late on my first day, due to schedule confusion.

Q. What department are you in?
A. Customer Service Department

Q. What do you look forward to most at work?
A. I look forward to getting in and training new staff, showing off the place where I grew up to outsiders who grow to love it even more by being here.

Q. When you are not at work, what does your day look like? A. My day off consists of breakfast dates, rearranging my room, beach stop for journaling, and Disney Movies!

Q. How did you end up on the island?
A. I was born and raised here. My dad spent a year here in high school, loved it so much, when he and my mom got married, they picked up and left the south for up north!

Q. What do you enjoy most about Nantucket?
A. That it’s always been there for me. It might as well be a person. I love it as home, my hub, my refuge. Whether I’m traveling out of the country or just to the cape, coming back to this quiet island brings me a peace of mind I will always love.

Q. List your favorite things.
A.Disney, Disney, Disney! I could talk about it all day long.

Ours Are Not Your Average Self Check Outs

As we approach the two month anniversary of our

self check fast lanes,

now seems a better time than ever to explain why

ours are different.

While most self checkouts are designed to have the customer do it completely on their own,

ours come with full customer service.

Have a question? A cashier is there to help.

Need an item? A cashier is there to help.

Instructions on how it all works? A cashier is there to help.

Register lanes full and you need to get out quickly? A cashier is there to help.

We are always looking for ways to improve your shopping experience and after seeing them in use in other markets like ours, we decided to upgrade to try to get you through the lines faster, so you can get home, to the beach, to dinner, or to your party sooner!
