King of Prussia Historical Society's Story of the Schuylkill River Project

Saturday, November 10 | 2:00PM

Christ Church (Old Swedes)

Chari Towne, Schuylkill Watershed Specialist with the DE Riverkeeper Network and author, will tell the story of how the Schuylkill River was allowed to become so polluted. Through the efforts of the Schuylkill River Project, a precedent setting river cleanup effort from 1947 to 1951, the health of the river was restored. Find out more.


Montgomery County Campaign Yard Sign Recycling Program

Montgomery County will again run a campaign yard sign recycling program. Campaign signs and metal stands can be brought to various sites throughout the county from November 7-13. Find a list of drop-off sites and more details on Montgomery County's website. 


Upper Merion Youth Wrestling Association

Registration for wrestlers ages 7 to 14 is now open for the 2018/2019 season. Practices are held at the Upper Merion High School on Tuesday and Thursday nights, from November 27, 2018 through February 2019. Find more information and register online.

Community Alliance for a Safer Tomorrow - Turkey Trot

Wednesday, November 14 | 2:30 to 4:30PM

Upper Merion Area High School Track

Celebrate the Great American Smokeout in an effort to encourage loved ones to kick their smoking habit. Students, parents, and community members are invited to run, walk, or “trot” around the track, and help us raise awareness about the health benefits of kicking the habit. Participants will receive a raffle ticket for each lap they complete, and the tickets can be entered into a drawing for a turkey or a $25 gift card. All trotters will receive a “Lick the Habit” lollipop, and information will be available on quitting smoking, vaping, and Juuling.

Are you or someone you know food insufficient? The Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard invites anyone who lives within the bounds of the Upper Merion Area School District to shop two times each month. The UMACC is located in the Valley Forge Presbyterian building (191 Town Center Road, KOP). There is a *REQUEST* Rambler stop nearby at the Valley Forge Shopping Center. If you'd like to be picked up or dropped off at that location, please call 610-354-8899. Carpool Trip to Festive Longwood Gardens

Join us on a carpool trip to Longwood Gardens to enjoy the beauty of the holiday season. There is a lovely café where you can have lunch on your own if you wish. Cost is $20 for seniors.
