Job Summary: Full-time Position
Under the direct and general supervision of the Executive Director in a dynamic, grassroots 501.c.3 (non-profit) focused on protecting and preserving water quality in the Ozarks. Provides a broad range of staff and support services, direct overseeing and execution of the membership program, and creation and coordination of non-profit communications. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Positive attitude and ethics which complement JRBP’s mission. An interest in water quality, conservation, biology, land & water management, environmental impact, etc. is a decided plus.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess a high level of professionalism.
  • Requires superior written and oral communication.
  • Must be organized with excellent time management skills.
  • The ability to handle ambiguity; cope effectively with sometimes rapid change and shifting priorities in response to needs.
  • An ability to multi-task and work well independently. Can orchestrate multiple activities simultaneously to accomplish a goal.
  • A composed, progressive self-starter; a proven team player and energetic learner.
  • Ability to work irregular hours from time to time including some weekends, and travel on behalf of JRBP on a very limited basis.
  • Manage the administrative functions of the office, and conduct standard business operations. The position requires diverse administrative and project management functions including initiative, resourcefulness, sound judgment and discretion.
  • Strong computer software skills in: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooks Online, Adobe PDF, etc.
  • Experience with digital newsletter production is preferred: Robly, or similar program.
  • Knowledge of customer relationship management software (CRM): Blackbaud’s eTapestry, or similar software.
  • Competency of website management through Squarespace.
  • Facebook administrator capabilities and implementation of current social media best practices.
  • Strategic design-minded and skilled use with online design resources: Canva, or similar resources.

Job Responsibilities: 
5% Event Support – Ability to lift 40 lbs or more while supporting outdoor and indoor events. Remain calm under pressure to make strategic decisions working with event partners, staff, and contractors on-site and in event preparations.
  • Support at river and shoreline clean-ups including River Rescue, Earth Day, and various urban stream clean-up.
  • Help with critical fundraising events such as Sunset Soirée, etc.

20% Membership – Commitment to enhancing and maintaining JRBP’s VIP community of water quality patrons, advocates, and fans through education, action, and recreation.
Manage and grow Business and Individual & Family membership program to hit fundraising goals for sustainable income.
  • All member communications including welcome letters, renewal letters, digital invites, exclusive member content, etc.
  • Plan and execute Annual Member Float and distribution of all member benefits including decals, maps, promotions, etc.
  • Upkeep of membership webpages including “Spotlight – Business Member” within Squarespace.
  • Coordinate and track new member joins in CRM software, Blackbaud’s eTapestry, while maintaining the integrity and health of contacts list.

30% Office Management: Retrieving, handling, processing, and distributing incoming USPS mail. Responsible for maintaining office files (paper and digital) alongside staff members; filing, copying, archiving as needed.
  • Assist Executive Director with grant reporting responsibilities including completing invoicing summary reports
  • Maintains office supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; evaluating new office products; placing and expediting orders for supplies; and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Responsible for tracking and ensuring annual organizational renewals such as insurance, liquor licenese for events as needed, Dunns Number, Sams Number, Secretary of State documentations, e-verify.
  • Handling payroll and Simple Plan communications.
  • Facilitates the mailing of thank you notes in a timely manner to annual donors and others as needed.
  • Completing digital payments for Purchase Power, Pitnety Bowes, Visa.
  • Board of Director’s meeting preparations including scheduling meetings, sending meeting reminders, Consent Agenda reporting of position’s accomplishments, meeting follow-ups, meeting attendance, and meeting coordination support.
  • “Growth Action Committee” Board of Director’s staff representative, which includes correspondences, updates, and occasional meeting attendance.
  • Compile post-event reports to send to Missouri Stream Teams with volunteer counts, trash stats, interview information, etc.
  • Performs related and other duties as assigned.

45% Communications – Must be able to interact & communicate well with individuals at all levels of the organization and the public. Excellent written and oral communications skills are a must. Drafts, prepares and proofreads all correspondences.
  • Strategically plan and execute JRBP content calendar including social media posts, e-newsletter sends, articles, website updates, etc.
  • Completing grant and contract milestones/objectives through creating and sharing educational content and project updates.
  • Updating and managing JRBP website on Squarespace, and overall digital presence through Google Apps, while using analytics to prepare reports and plan future campaigns.
  • Eye and execution for strategic design and photography to compliment non-profit communications.
  • Scheduling and attending public tabling events, presentations, education outreach, etc. as needed.
  • Spearheading digital fundraisers such as Give Ozarks Day, Giving Tuesday, etc.

Salary range $28,000- $34,000 with flexibility based on experience. Benefits include medical, paid vacation, sick leave, and retirement plan.

Job position starts week of August 6 - 10, 2018.
