Join us for a very special Visual Tefillah on September 9 at 7:30, our first service at the normal time.  Everyone is welcome as we celebrate Shabbat with the most wonderfully striking photographs taken by our own Andrea Phox.

Mark your calendars for September 10 at 6:30 as we share a real Western BBQ (catered - just like they did in the Old West!) and watch the classic 'The Frisco Kid' with Gene Wilder (of blessed memory - in his most Jewish movie although you can make the same argument for Young Frankenstein and The Producers, but that is another program!) and Harrison Ford followed by a discussion with Rabbi Brooks Susman on the Jewish immigrant experience to the United States.

Everyone is welcome.

Because it is catered, the cost is $20/person and for children 12 and under, $10.  Please use ChaverWeb to sign up or call the office at 732-222-3754.

The Men's Club is having a fundraiser with RHHoney.  You can order an 8 oz. bottle of  honey, send it with a personalized message, and help support our TBM Men's Club.  There is no shipping or handling.

Go to RHHoney.com.  Enter TBMhoney when it asks for our "coupon".  The price is $12 dollars a jar.  The Men's Club is using this to spread Rosh Hashanna joy and as a fundraiser so buy lots of jars!

Other Men's Club events coming up include:

  • September 11- Our greet that dads at Sunday School Breakfast; 9am
  • September 18- Our softball game vs. Monmouth Reform; 9am

The summer is coming to an end and the Yankees and the Mets haven't exactly knocked it out of the park.  However our TBM softball team is still undefeated at 1 - 0.  I need players.  ALL PLAYERS.

Our next game is Sunday, September 18 at 9am.  The location is going to be Fireman's Field in Oakhurst (take West Park to Larkin Place).

Please RSVP to me, Barry Edison, at 732-233-7274 or email at eyedocbarry@gmail.com.

The summer is over and adult classes at Beth Miriam are about to resume again.  Midrash study will restart on September 11 at 8am.  This is Torah for its own sake.  No Hebrew necessary and no experience necessary.  Everyone is welcome at every class.

Join the temple community as we prepare for the Days of Awe.  Our first service is a service of preparation called Selichot which means 'Forgiveness'.  Selichot will take place on September 24 at 8:15 pm and we will begin with Havdallah, have an informal short service of reflection, continue with refreshments, a movie with the theme of change and growth and end with a discussion about some of the movie's themes.  This is a very moving and beautiful ceremony enhanced by the music of Cantor Camhi, a creative service, fantastic and creative refreshments prepared by Stella Stanway, the feeling of community and the reflections of the Days of Awe.  There is no charge, of course, and you are welcome to bring a friend.  Please let us know you are coming by calling the temple at 732-222-3754.

SEPTEMBER 25, 9 AM
