Myths Busted, Standards
Discussed, Traffic Records Broken
Baltimore, MD—April 30, 2014—Forum's final day will focus on process control and printing to the numbers as encapsulated in FIRST (Flexographic Image Reproduction Specifications & Tolerances). Also highlighted:

♦ Building better boxes - design to print
♦ Using special effects on tags and labels
♦ Future trends and possibilities in flexible packaging

At Tuesday's FQC In Action session, standards were briefed and current research findings were presented from 2013 Rossini Scholarship winners Natalee Consulo and Lena Haidar. The call to "print to the numbers" echoed throughout the room.

The same concept was embraced in the Mythbusters session, where flexo's perceived shortcomings were dismissed. The capacity crowd welcomed the change in format to short snippets, some live and some video taped ahead of time.

Comments praised the approach of the Mythbusters session:

♦ "Excellent group, much effort, changes the perspective of Forum." - Mark Dallmeyer, Novaflex
♦ "Short presentations on key concerns covering a broad range of topics." - Greg Collins, C-P Flexible Packaging
♦ "Great approach to presenting best practices to the printing community." - Jerry Napiecek, Colorcon No-Tox Products
♦ "Utilized video to show their testing and theories. It was the best way to illustrate the point." - Lynn Westendorf, Stevenson Color
INFO*FLEX day two proved to be the networking capital of the industry. Both exhibitors and attendees reported heavy traffic. Great discussions were heard throughout. New business partnerships were forged. Solutions to long standing problems were identified.

Anticipation that next year's event, on May 4-5 at the Music City Convention Center in Nashville, TN, will be even better was widespread. First time attendees were impressed with the common commitment to contributing to flexography's continued growth and strengthening its position at the top of the global packaging market.

Mark your calendar! Forum 2015 is scheduled for May 3-6, also in Nashville, TN at the Omni Nashville Hotel.
