TWO LEE HEALTH HOSPITALS NAMED TO TOP LIST
Lee Health’s (www.LeeHealth.org) Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida and Cape Coral Hospital have been named Top Hospitals by The Leapfrog Group (www.leapfroggroup.org/tophospitals). Only 115 hospitals in the country, including 11 in Florida, earned this distinction, which highlights each hospital’s commitment to patient safety and quality.
 
 
 
 
EUROPE-AMERICAN AVIATION PARTNERS WITH EVERGLADES UNIVERSITY
Everglades University (EU), which has its main campus in Boca Raton, and Europe-American Aviation of Naples, (skystead.com), announced the signing of an articulation agreement to foster and promote career development in aviation. Everglades University offers the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Aviation/Aerospace. Europe-American Aviation is an FAA Approved Part 141 Pilot School and will provide flight training to aspiring, professional aviators seeking their degree in aviation from EU.

BURTON CITIZEN OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS OPENS
Nominations are open for the 2016 Paulette Burton Citizen of the Year Award. Lee County Commissioners are looking for nominees who get involved in the community and work diligently for causes in which they believe. The annual award strives to recognize a citizen who has provided outstanding civic contributions to Lee County government.  Nomination forms are available at Lee County libraries and recreation centers or online at www.leegov.com/citizenoftheyear. The nominations are due Feb. 3. The award was created in 1991 to honor Burton, a long-time Sanibel resident and government watchdog.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
2017 FACE AWARDS NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN
D’Latinos and Gulfshore Business magazines are accepting nominations for our sixth annual Face Awards, which will be presented in print this March, with a gala on March 24. GORDON NAMED CHIEF COMPLIANCE OFFICER AT SAN-CAP
Sanibel Captiva Holdings Inc. (www.sancaptrustco.com) announced the addition of the firm’s new Chief Compliance Officer Darryl S. Gordon to oversee and implement compliance standards for the company and its divisions of The Naples Trust Company and The Tampa Bay Trust Company. Prior to joining the firm, Gordon was a regulatory financial examiner in Tampa for the Florida Office of Financial Regulation for 17 years. Gordon is a certified fraud examiner and received his degree in accounting with a minor in finance from Jacksonville University.
 
 
 
 
ROEPSTORFF ELECTED LEE BAR ASSOCIATION MEMBER-AT-LARGE

MOORINGS PARK RECEIVES ACCREDITATION
The Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) (www.carf.org) and the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC) announced Moorings Park (MooringsPark.org) has been awarded a five-year Term of Accreditation. This latest designation is the third consecutive term that CARF-CCAC accreditation has been awarded to Moorings Park. JOHNSON NAMED A WOMAN OF INITIATIVE HONOREE
Kimberly Leach Johnson, chair for Quarles & Brady, LLP (www.quarles.com) and a partner in the firm’s Naples office, was named a 2017 Woman of Initiative Honoree by the Women’s Foundation of the Community Foundation of Collier County. Johnson practices in the area of trusts and estates. She earned her law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, her LL.M. degree from the University of Miami, and her bachelor’s degree from Anderson College.

GOGGIN, THOMSON PROMOTED TO PARTNER AT LAW FIRM
The law firm of Goede, Adamczyk, DeBoest & Cross (www.gadclaw.com) announced that Cary Goggin and Kyla Thomson have been promoted to partners. The two attorneys have been with the firm for more than five years and work out of its Naples office. Goggin manages commercial and real estate litigation cases from inception through resolution. FGCU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION ACCEPTING NOMINEES FOR AWARDS
Florida Gulf Coast University’s Alumni Association is accepting nominations for its annual Alumni Awards. The deadline for submission is Jan. 13. Since 2004, the FGCU Alumni Association has recognized outstanding alumni for their professional accomplishments and dedication to their communities and FGCU.   • The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools (www.leeschoolfoundation.org) received a $6,000 grant from the UPS Foundation, which drives global corporate citizenship and philanthropic programs for UPS. The grant will be used toward the Collegium for the Advancement of Education program, which offers quality teacher training to educators throughout the School District of Lee County.
  • More than 20 of Suffolk Construction’s (www.suffolk.com) Southwest Florida team members participated in the American Heart Association’s 2016 Collier County Heart Walk at Cambier Park in Naples. This was the third consecutive year the Suffolk team participated in the 5K event. Employees from the Estero office and local projects, including Moorings Park and Altaira, raised more than $24,000.
  • The Neighborhood Health (www.NeighborHoodHealthClinic.org) announced that the 2017 Gourmet Vintner Dinner will be held on Feb. at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, 280 Vanderbilt Beach Road. Now in its 14th year, the Clinic’s Gourmet Vintner Dinner (formerly known as the Block Party) begins at 6 p.m. with the Vintner Reception featuring a sampling of wine from more than 10 wine makers. Proceeds from the evening ensure the Clinic can continue to care for more than 200 patients a week, providing more than 9,300 patient visits for working, uninsured men and women annually. Tickets for the Gourmet Vintner Dinner are $375/person. Tables of ten are available for $3,750.  Sponsorships are also available.
