Celebrating 175 years of Family Farming on Nantucket
In 1939, the only farm buildings were the farmhouse
and a few barns and sheds.
By the late 1990's, there were more than a dozen greenhouses.
The farmhouse and the barn are still there,
and the barn is much smaller.
In 2018, we have more than 30 greenhouses,
the market which is now more than 10 years old, and the solar field in the lower left corner of the photo.
And the farmhouse is still there!
Farm Talk Saturday
Join us in the Hayloft at 11 am
March 17
Bartlett's Head Vegetable Grower, Andrew Spollett,
talks about what's new and exciting at the farm.
He will open up the discussion to answer all your questions about growing vegetables, here at the farm or in your own yard! Andrew's talks are always super informative and fascinating! A Farm Talk not to be missed!
This event is FREE!

We've made some changes in the market!

We have added 4 new self-check registers and our register staff is learning a new point of sale system.
Wait...what? Self-serve checkouts?

Never fear - you are not required to use the self-check out.  There will ALWAYS be a trained cashier right there to help you or show you what you need to know!

And there will ALWAYS be at least one 'live lane' where you can check out the same way you always have.

We anticipate that this will help eliminate the lengthy lines when things get busier.

Sam Herrick shows how easy it is!

Lauren Keereweer

Assistant Customer Service Manager

Lauren started with the farm in January 2015 on the opening day of the season. She was first introduced to the island by longtime friend Nate via a day trip that included beach time and nightlife. Soon after, she returned for a job opportunity in a new environment, beginning at Something Natural as a delivery driver.  While her first impression of the island was "confusing," she says that after three full years on Nantucket, the one way streets and rotaries have become second nature to her.  Her deliveries brought her to Bartlett’s Farm, and she began working here soon after. Lauren began here at the farm as a member of the cashier team before becoming Assistant Customer Service Manager in 2016.  Lauren loves interacting with the regular customers, exchanging anecdotes, and working closely with friend and manager Whitney, running the customer service department at the farm.
In her down time, like many of her fellow coworkers, she is likely to be found unwinding on one of the islands’ beaches, hunting for beach glass or grabbing those memorable sunset pics of the island on her phone and doing research on topics such as “How best to raise your baby chicks”.
