Join us for the last advanced webinar of 2020 on December 15th from 12pm-3pm EST for a Deep Dive into the Board/CEO Relationship (inspired by Policy Goverance & Research).  Featured speakers, Gwen DuBois-Wing, PhD, PCC will discuss what the research says about the Board/CEO Relationship and does it really matter. Karen Fryday-Field will discuss opportunities and challenges with relationships and the balance between Board inspirations of the CEO and oversight of the CEO.  Jannice Moore will discuss the principles around CEO performance evaluations.

FEATURED SPEAKER:
Gwen DuBois-Wing is a governance, leadership, and strategy consultant and coach. Gwen assists executives, high-potential leaders, and boards to explore possibilities and realize their goals. She is often sought as an advisor for strategic leadership and governance-related issues. In her governance consulting role, she has a passion to assist boards to maximize their governance effectiveness. Focusing on the board’s ends (mission), she encourages boards to optimize their working relationship with the CEO/Executive Director; engage and use their skills; promote a culture of inquiry in the boardroom; and engage with their communities. Gwen brings a perspective of 16 ½ years as CEO working with complex health system organizations. She has extensive board experience within the health system and education sector in Ontario, Canada where she led major governance renewal processes.

Gwen is a Fellow in the Institute of Social Innovation at Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara, California, and an associate faculty member in the Master of Arts in Leadership program, School of Leadership Studies, at Royal Roads University, Victoria, British Columbia. She attained her Professional Coach Certification (PCC) within the International Coaching Federation.

The registration fee is $150 for non-members and $125 for members.

Communities of Practice (formerly Hubs) Team Leader


Athens Kolias, Hubs Team Leader will be retiring form this position in the near future to take on the role of Social Media Team Leaders. Bravo to Athens! We thank you for almost 5 years of service in this role.


GOVERN is now seeking a new Communities of Practice (Hubs) Team Leader. This is a dynamic and critical position for GOVERN. Our Hubs, now called Communities of Practice are very important learning, sharing, engagement and development programs that accomplish great things in governance excellence. This volunteer will also become a member of GOVERN’s Leadership Team.

Candidates for this volunteer position should:
  • Have 3 or 4 hours per month on average to devote to this position including being on the Leadership Team.
  • Be organized and a great communicator.
  • Be committed to GOVERN for IMPACT’s purpose (see The Case for GOVERN and The GOVERN Value Proposition on our website).

This volunteer position includes:
  • Communicating with our broader community to build knowledge about and engagement in the GOVERN Communities of Practice
  • Coordinating conversations and learning among the Communities of Practice (Hubs) leaders.
  • Encouraging Communities of Practice (Hubs) to share learning from their learning experiences.
  • Recording and summarizing Communities of Practice (Hubs) statistics submitted by Hub Leaders including outcome measures.
  • Serving on the GOVERN Leadership Team as the Communities of Practice (Hubs) liaison.
