Paul L. Dunbar Elementary School, Cleveland, Ohio 

Paul L. Dunbar Elementary School was installed in 2014 by Farnham Equipment Company.  The school is committed to a positive school environment, "Our mission is to provide children with learning experiences through an integrated arts curriculum  that will empower them to build creative and critical thinking skills as they become productive members of society, of worth to themselves and others, by encouraging academic, technological, artistic and social growth while scholars work, study, serve, and lead themselves and others to personal greatness." 

The facility used Stevens Advantage millwork reception desks and 1200 Tradition series casework.  The project architect was Ralph Tyler Companies with construction management by OHGR Team.

Stevens Attends AWI Conference  

Stevens' team members Aimee Gebben, J.R. Elder and John Apke recently attended the AWI Conference in South Carolina.  They had the opportunity to engage with colleagues from around the country and hear about changes and updates to AWI policies and standards. 

John Apke reported, "Significant changes are underway to AWI's existing specifications.  AWI will be separating the performance/durability of the casework from the aesthetics of the casework. The economy, custom, premium grades will still exist, but will only refer to aesthetics such as gaps and where color laminates will be applied. AWI will be eliminating the specific construction details such as placement of dowels and thickness of board material, and replacing with a series of durability standards which will require the manufacturer to have casework tested and certified similar to SEFA testing. AWI currently has developed only the install standard, which is currently going through peer review. casework standard development will be starting in the next few months."  John will be working with AWI committees to assist in developing these standards.    
 
 
 
 
 
Dealer Spotlight: ASG

Architectural System Group LLC (ASG) was formed as a spin off from an established educational furniture company to specialize in casework and other division 12 equipment. Rod Klingenberg had been in the controls business and Terry Edewaard worked in the residential construction business. They joined together to provide a much needed construction experience to the furniture company. Shortly thereafter they purchased the equipment division and started ASG. Lavonne Fritz joined the team in 2007 and had been a project manager for Stevens Industries and other casework manufactures for over 20 years. Rod retired in 2016 after 40 years in the construction field. ASG LLC. became the Michigan dealer for Stevens in 2014.

Jennifer Cox Promoted to Project Manager 

We are pleased to announce Jennifer Cox has been promoted to Stevens Advantage Project Manager.  She will be joining Lori Rutledge's team, effective January 15.  We are confident that Jennifer's talents will benefit our dealers in this new role.  With this change, she will no longer serve as the Contract Administrator.

Submissions for Project Profiles

Project photo collections are tremendous sales tools for your fast-moving bidding season.  Join us in compiling a comprehensive set of project photos. 
Submit photos to Patrick Gibbons. Please include one outside shot including the building sign, along with five to six interior photos.  If possible, try to hide away boxes, large trash receptacles, ladders and clutter to achieve clean, attractive photos that can be used in marketing.
