January 2019

Dear friends,

Happy new year! I hope the holiday season was a time of rest, reflection and renewal for you. My best wishes for a happy and productive 2019.

As students return to campus and College Panhellenic officers prepare to take on their new roles, please ensure new officer information has been updated in FS Central, NPC's new fraternal contacts and information database. (Tool: FS Central Quick Start Guide.)

Please also ensure officers are aware of the resources NPC provides, including the 2019 Manual of Information, officer e-learning modules, sample budget, minutes template, model bylaws, recruitment rules template and many other files on the NPC website under Resources > College Panhellenics.

NPC looks forward to welcoming many campuses to Indianapolis for College Panhellenic Academy later this month and at regional conferences throughout the term (see below.)

Thank you for all you do for your Panhellenic community. If there is anything NPC can do to assist you, please let us know.

Frances Mitchelson

2017-19 NPC Panhellenics chairman

Regional Conference Academies

NPC, the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) and two regional interfraternal leadership programs are partnering together to bring council officer training to students in 2019. College Panhellenic Academy curriculum will be facilitated at AFLV Central and NGLA.

Campuses will sign-up to participate as part of the registration of the respective regional conference they will be attending. Click the links below for more information.

NPC Foundation Scholarships

The NPC Foundation will award six scholarships, totaling at least $7,000, for 2019. Details about each scholarship can be found on the NPC Website under Foundation > Scholarships.

The application form is live and applications are due by March 15.

February Planning: Month of the Scholar

Celebrating the Month of the Scholar in February honors the core value of scholarship that exists for every NPC member organization.

Here are some celebration ideas for your campus:

  • Organize a stress- and time-management workshop.
  • Invite women who achieved the dean’s list to a scholarship dessert with faculty and staff.
  • Host a scholarship roundtable where participants discuss quarterly and yearly goals, past successes and challenges.
  • Make goodie bags containing candy, erasers, pens, pencils and study tips for distribution to every sorority woman on campus.
  • Pair chapters in teams to compete for an incentive as determined by your College Panhellenic Council.

Encourage the College Panhellenic officer responsible for scholarship to share all the information with your community. Also share your activities and efforts with us on social media using #npcscholar.

Additional resources can be found on the NPC website here.
