GRESHAM RESTORE now accepting donations!
Great Gresham giveaway

There's room for you and your very closest friends--or at least room for several fun-loving ReStore volunteers!

Here they're reminding you to enter the great Gresham giveaway.  You could win this cute upcycled cottage shed crafted from six old doors. We will draw the winner's name at the Grand Opening Gala Thursday, June 15. No purchase necessary; you don't have to be present to win.

Now through Saturday June 9, entry forms can be found at the Portland ReStore.

Thanh Nguyen
I see the circle now!

Thanh Nguyen has a plan. Crafted on a random piece of paper at a Habitat build site, this plan is his future...and it's a great one.  That might have been difficult to imagine just a few years ago when Thanh, his parents and four brothers were living in a small two bedroom apartment without heat. Things started looking up when they were accepted into the Habitat homeownership program. Then one day at the build, his life took a completely new direction. He says he's lucky!
Hardworking volunteers have been crazy busy setting up the Gresham ReStore, so we threw them an appreciation party Thursday evening. You can see how they took to that! Want to join the fun? Come learn about becoming a volunteer at the Volunteer Open House from 2 pm to 4 pm Saturday, June 3 at the Gresham ReStore, 610 NE 181st Ave.

A huge thank you goes out to Cascade Pacific Flooring for their recent donation of over 10,000 sq.ft. of beautiful hardwood flooring! Sales in the stores were impacted dramatically and our customers were very, very happy:) If you are a business owner, please consider the ReStore as your go-to material donation partnership. Help us make an immeasurable human impact in our communities by helping support Habitat for Humanity's local housing efforts. We offer a free pickup service for businesses and, of course, your donations are tax deductible.
Thank you, Cascade Pacific!

Todd Hess Building Company
gleaned over 100 cabinet pieces during a recent remodel project and immediately thought of the ReStore as a donation option. Our team was able to pick them up in a timely manner, deliver them to our nearby warehouse and get them distributed to our four local ReStore locations. Rather than being hauled to the landfill or even to the wood recyclers, these cabinets will find a useful new life somewhere in our community. We hope you'll follow the Todd Hess example and remember the Habitat ReStores as your waste-diverting, money-saving, material re-use partner!

A couple of shoppers at the recent Junk Refunk shared their amazing upcycle project: a solar-powered greenhouse. It's a mashup crafted from an old playground equipment dome and shower doors.!

We would love to hear about what you're up to in your creative workshop. Tell us about it on Facebook, or here: CONTACT THE RESTORE.

You inspire us!

(PS - Don't go cruising to see this baby, though. They built it in Anchorage, Alaska.)
