Oak Grove's very own, Melissa Lynch, Director of the Oak Grove Community Center, had the honor of being named the 2021 Fannie Bronson Postell Woman of the Year Award Recipient! The Award is given during Women's History Month by the Hopkinsville Human Rights Commission. Melissa is a key asset to the City of Oak Grove and we are so excited that someone that is so deserving gets recognized for all she does for the community. Thank you Melissa!

Flip'n Axe's Grand Opening
Join Oak Grove's newest attraction: Flip'n Axe for their grand opening April 10th 2021 from 12pm-5pm! The grand opening will include; a food truck, 50% off axe throwing, giveaways, and more!
Flip'n Axe is located at 216 Segler Drive in Oak Grove, Kentucky. Flip'n Axe is an indoor axe throwing attraction that is open to everyone including families and children ages 10 +. Earth Day 2021
Earth Day (April 22nd) 2021 will mark the 51st anniversary of this holiday. Typically, Earth Day is assigned a different theme or area of focus each year by Almanac; this year’s theme is “Restore Our Earth.”
Most years, Earth Day events range from river cleanups to removals of invasive plants. With social distancing still in place for many of us this April, Almanac has virtual events, such as environmental lectures and films, that will take place on Earth Day To see a catalog of official events, visit earthday.org.
Of course, social distancing doesn’t mean that you can’t go outside and enjoy nature, as long as you do so responsibly!
Here are the Almanac's 10 ways you can help celebrate Earth Day!
- Support our pollinators! Bring native bees and other pollinating creatures to your garden!
- Clean up plastic in your neighborhood or local park!

Oak Grove Basket Giveaway

The city is promoting local businesses while also giving prizes to local residents. All month long you can sign up to win a raffle basket with the Oak Grove Community Center. There will be 3 baskets total. You can sign up at the Community Center on 1705 Thompsonville Ln, Oak Grove. You can enter April 1st- April 15th. Drawings will take place on April 16th at a local business and can be viewed on Facebook Live.
