Hope Yet for RAD in FY 2018 Approps!

Although it’s been a long winter of Continuing Resolutions (CRs), it appears that Congress is finally wrapping up work on a major FY2018 Omnibus Appropriations bill for the balance of the federal fiscal year. We remain hopeful that the HUD portion will offer additional authority for RAD.

As of this writing, the bill language remains on track for posting later this evening. The House would then vote on it on Thursday, and the Senate on Friday prior to the expiration of the latest temporary funding measure. Although there had been some earlier noise about opposing portions of it, the Administration is now reported to support the omnibus funding package, and the President is expected to sign it Friday.

As many of us at the Collaborative will be joining the CLPHA Spring Meeting on Thursday and Friday, we expect to share early next week how the omnibus, once passed, might boost RAD. Also, stay tuned for the scheduling of a web-call breaking down the bill along with the latest RAD developments out of the Recap Office and HUD

The Collaborative & CLPHA Supporting
Novogradac’s RAD Public Housing Conference
in Philadelphia April 26-27

Both the Collaborative and CLPHA are pleased to support Novogradac’s 2018 RAD Public Housing Conference at the Loew’s Hotel in Philadelphia on April 26-27, 2018. As Novogradac has had a long role in helping owners and managers successfully implement Section 8 and LIHTC programs, we believe it can do the same for housing authorities and their partners working on complex RAD conversions and tax credit projects. Hear from PHAs, lenders, investors, other development partners, HUD’s Recap Office and the Collaborative on the latest RAD practices and updates. Collaborative participants and CLPHA members will be offered $100 discounts off the standard conference rate. For more details, a conference agenda and registration materials, click here
