Santa on the Square (Thru Dec. 17)
Experience true Christmas magic as your child steps into the “tiny house” workshop of Santa himself on the historic square. Your booking includes two copies of a 4 x 6 in. photo in a keepsake folder and a visit with Santa. (Additional sizes are available on site.) All proceeds benefit Volunteer McKinney, a local nonprofit that inspires people to volunteer. Only a couple appointment slots remain.

Jazz Up Your Holidays (Thursday)
Join TheJazzMark Trio for another Holiday Jazz Concert with Jazz renditions of your Holiday favorites including the ever popular jazz from "A Charlie Brown Christmas" television special. Mark has created arrangements of Holiday favorites that are paired seamlessly with well-known jazz standards in ways that show the similarities of rhythms, harmonies and melodies. 7-8 p.m. $12 adults; $8 students. Dickens' tale relates Ebenezer Scrooge's eerie encounters with a series of ghostly visitors. Journeying with them through Christmases past, present, and future, he is changed from an arrogant and insensitive miser to a generous, warmhearted, and caring human being. Friday, 7:30-9 p.m.; Saturday, 2-3:30 p.m. and 5-6:30 p.m. $11 adults, $8 students & seniors, $6 kids.
 
 
 
 
 
As We See It:A Multi-Media Group Show (Friday-Sunday)
Photography, print-making, drawing, painting, and multi-media works exhibited by area artists. At The Cove, 402 N. Tennessee, a
 cooperative venue that encourages creatives to congregate, communicate, collaborate, exhibit, and perform.  Friday, 6-9 p.m., Opening Reception;

Guests will see lights and holiday décor along a half mile Heard nature trail. Children and the young at heart will enjoy the opportunity to have a photo taken with Father Christmas and Mother Nature in a festive setting. Hot beverages and treats will be available for purchase, and families will enjoy live holiday music. Tickets are $9 for adults/seniors and $5 for kids 3-12; available at the door or online. 1 Nature Place. 6:30-9 p.m. 

Dinosaurs Live (shown, thru Feb. 19) They're back! Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and some of his life-size animatronic dinosaur friends along the Heard's nature trails.Tues.-Sat., 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., 1-5 p.m. 

Nature Story Time (Friday)
Story times are designed primarily for young children and will introduce a different nature-themed book each week. During some story times, a puppet, live animal or enrichment items are used to enhance the experience. 30-45 minutes depending on the book covered. Included in general admission and free for Heard Museum Members. 10:30 a.m.

Third Saturday Nature Talk: Winter Tree Walk (Saturday)
Learn about some of the ways you can identify plants without their foliage. Open to the public and are free with paid general admission or Heard Museum Membership. Many of these programs will have an outside component. Please dress appropriately. Preregistration required.
