Special Thanks from
United Lutheran Seminary
At the 2020 Synod Assembly of the Northeaster Pennsylvania Synod, a memorial was adopted to encourage congregations to remember United Lutheran Seminary in their benevolence. This is vitally important, as the seminary serves to educate church leaders, to subsequently serve congregations in our synod and beyond. Rev. Guy Irwin, President of United Lutheran Seminary, offers his thanks for the NEPA Synod's commitment to the seminary and theological education. Synod-wide Lent Devotion: A Call to Participate
Last year, in celebration of 50-40-10, the Synod Connections Team intentionally compiled and offered a Lenten Devotional written by those who identify as women clergy and lay leaders in the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA. This year, we are doing the same, and opening the field to all leaders in the NEPA Synod. ALL ARE WELCOME to contribute, and since we have a very early Lent this year (Ash Wednesday is February 17), the sooner the better. This is especially important because we will be producing a PDF (uploaded on the synod website) that can be printed by churches for people who do not have or wish to use Facebook.
Here's what to do: 1. Sign up for a slot at the following link:
Leave your name and email address; you will automatically get an email reminder of the date and verse you selected.
2. Write your devotion & send it to Rev. Samantha Drennan: sldrennan1@gmail.com by February 14, 2021!

Independent Confirmation Project
There are many wonderful ways out there to re-imagine confirmation education... How can we bring all of these great ideas together to share with other leaders in our synod?
Join us on Wednesday, February 24th at 12 p.m. or Saturday, February 27th at 10 a.m. as we pull our many brains together and share our ideas in a blessed brain dump we will call the "Independent Confirmation Project." There will be no expectation that the group gathering in February actually categorizes the ideas for future use... However, we hope a team of a few passionate folks will rise up from this time together to put the ideas together for future use in future months! Sign up here.
