How to Participate:

This section highlights out-of-District businesses who make a contribution to the general downtown Wausau area and whose services are complementary to River District businesses. The funds provided through participation in this section are held in a separate account and awarded to River District businesses with marketing technology start-up or maintenance needs.

To get involved, out-of-District businesses must submit an essay-like application on the nature of their business, how they plan to drive business to the River District, how their business complements rather than competes with River District businesses, and what their business would offer to the River District. Applications will be reviewed by the River District Organization Committee at its monthly meetings (2nd Tuesday of each month) and the Committee and Board have the ability to accept or deny applications, or discontinue publication from the out-of-District businesses any time at its sole discretion. This project is starting on a pilot period of 12 months, after which time satisfaction with the program from both the out-of-District and River District will be assessed and the Wausau River District Board will determine whether to continue the program.

If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to know more about this program, please do not hesitate to contact me at
715-297-1829. Your feedback is very important to us as we branch out into a new service area.
