This remodel worked within the home's existing footprint to expand the kitchen and open it up to an underutilized adjacent space. The U shaped original design was converted to an L shaped allowing for a large center island with seating. The ceilings were vaulted which visually opens up the space and creates a beautiful sense of drama that the kitchen lacked previously.
In addition to the kitchen, a new mudroom and powder room were added by borrowing space from a garage bay that wasn't being used. The new mudroom and half bath along with the custom built-ins created for the space increased the functionality of this area of the home tenfold.
Our Pool house project was featured in Home Remodeling Magazine's Spring 2017 issue. The eight page spread highlighted how the collaboration between client, architect and our company created "The Ultimate Family Space" that no one would want to leave! Read all about it online or pick up a magazine available in newsstands near you!
We snapped this photo of the staff with their favorite tools after one of our staff meetings before the start of the work day. From Left to right: Eric Thorson, Dan Moore, Bob Morrissey, Jared McCartney, Todd Donnelly, Ben Norton, Greg Duva, Dale Hermanson, Colby McMullen.
Colby, the newest addition to the Thorson Team, joined us early in 2017. Colby was born and raised in Hanson, MA and comes from a family of hardworking iron workers. Colby grew up working with his dad and brother in the trades and has been working as an ironworker and carpenter for the last 9+ years.
Colby loves working outdoors and watching a project progress from nothing into something amazing that he was able take part in. Colby's experience, strong work ethic and passion for the trades make him a great fit here at Thorson. When asked what he enjoys most about working for Thorson he said the people he works with and the customers make for a very comfortable and enjoyable work environment.
