Lutheran Day on the Hill
More than 200 Lutherans registered for the annual Lutheran Day on the Hill through Lutheran Services in Iowa. They gathered first at Capitol Hill Lutheran Church to hear about topics they were advocating for and a keynote address from Mikka McCracken of ELCA World Hunger.

Did you attend Lutheran Day on the Hill? Would you like to share a story about it? We're collecting short reflections (less than 100 words) about your time on the hill. Send them to Val Harlynn,

Southeastern Iowa Synod Rostered Women's Retreat
On February 10-11 rostered women from across the synod met at the Stone Center Retreat Center at EWALU. While the weather wasn't the most cooperative, nine leaders gathered in retreat to discuss the theological aspects of the book A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. Through the Bible study, conversation, great meals and time away the women were blessed and thankful for the time together.

Bread for the World 2019 Offering of Letters
Bread for the World’s annual Offering of Letters campaign engages churches, campuses, and other faith communities in writing letters to Congress.

People write letters, usually as a group, and present them as an offering to God before mailing them to Congress. Hundreds of Offerings of Letters are held each year, resulting in tens of thousands of letters to Congress. Supported with prayer, these letters are a bold witness to God’s justice and mercy. They have, and continue to have, a significant impact on the decisions made in Congress. Learn more about this year's topic and how to be involved.

Remember God’s love and forgiveness, and pray we are moved to demonstrate the same grace and forgiveness – as Joseph did with his brothers who sold him into slavery – with people with whom we have experienced offense, conflict or broken relationships.
