The Western Fairs Association Professional Development Committee is seeking recommendations for educational sessions from members and related professional industry organizations for the 2019 Convention. All proposals will be reviewed by the Professional Development Committee for content and industry relevance.

Please note, you do not have to be the presenter of the session, however, fully developed ideas with presenter suggestions is highly encouraged.
Answer the Call
The Blue Ribbon Foundation - WFA's charitable arm - produces an annual All Access report, highlighting activities occurring at fairgrounds that bring their communities together in inspiring ways. Past reports have included the veterans projects, fairgrounds serving in response to natural disasters, and unique fundraisers.

This year, we want to hear from you! Have a project that you'd like to share with the industry? Email Chris Pickering with a one-paragraph description of your submission. If selected, you will be asked to provide high-resolution photographs to be included in the magazine.
Show Off a Little Bit, You've Earned It
May is California Fairgrounds Appreciation Month, and we're excited to continue to display an exhibit outside the Governor's office May 14-18, as well as support the much-loved fair-themed legislative reception hosted by Assemblymember Bigelow.

As a new effort to gain support at the Capitol in 2017, fair CEOs and Directors from around California gathered in Sacramento to meet with their respective legislators. Building on last year's historic and successful legislative session, the California Fairs Alliance will be returning to the Capitol May 15 to once again remind California lawmakers of the importance of fairgrounds to their communities.

A detailed schedule of the day's events will be released at a later time. Stay informed by joining the Closed Facebook Group: California Fairs Alliance. Membership is open to all active WFA members.
