National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Friday): Clark Griswold, America's First and Favorite Dad of Disaster, in this classic side-splitting Christmas blockbuster! MPAC's screening will be the Best Holiday Party of the season - complete with squirrels, green Jello and moose mugs! Featuring an Ugly Christmas Sweater Competition.
Wear your favorite Ugly Christmas Sweater and enter to the win a pair of tickets to "Hooking Up with Second City," the acclaimed Chicago improv troupe for their performance at MPAC on February 9, 2016. A Merry Christmas with Brass (Saturday): For centuries, brass instruments have been able to convey the spirit of festive occasions, especially Christmas. There are more songs for Christmas than all of the other holidays combined – and no artist or ensemble performs them better than the Dallas Brass. The Dallas Brass holiday show, "A Merry Christmas with Brass" adds sacred and secular holiday favorites to the regular variety of Dallas Brass repertoire. Tickets are $16-36. 8-10 p.m.
 
 
 
 
 
McKinney Rotary Christmas Parade of Lights (Saturday)
The annual McKinney Rotary Christmas Parade of Lights starts at 6:30 p.m. around the downtown square. Enjoy music from school bands, see parade Grand Marshall Burton Gilliam and enjoy the theme of The Gift of Christmas! 6:30-8 p.m.

Bundle up and experience Holidays at the Heard, the most unique holiday event in North Texas. Holidays at the Heard brings the beauty of the holiday season into nature. Guests will see lights and holiday décor along a half mile Heard nature trail. Hot beverages and treats will be available for purchase. Family-friendly entertainment will complement the holiday atmosphere. 6:30-9 p.m. Tickets available at the door - $9 for adults & seniors, $5 for kids 3-12, children 2 and under free.

2nd Saturday Bird Walk: Learn more about birding at Second Saturday Bird Walks! These walks will help beginning and intermediate birders with bird spotting and identification techniques. Reservations are not required; however, make sure to arrive on time. Included in admission to museum.

(Open thru Feb. 21) Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and eight new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the Heard Museum nature trails. Included in admission to the museum. Also on the sanctuary grounds: picnic area, pioneer village and Animals of the World Exhibit; more exhibits indoors.
