KOP Restaurant Week & KOP Shops for CHOP

KOP Restaurant Week and KOP Shops for CHOP are almost over! Over the next few days, restaurants and select retailers will donate a portion of their proceeds to CHOP KOP, and others have committed to donating to CHOP in the name of this campaign. Visit their website for event details.

REAL ID Information Session

Tuesday, March 19 | 6:00 to 7:00PM

Narberth Borough Hall

Starting October 1, 2020, you'll need a REAL ID (or another form of accepted ID like a passport or military ID) to fly domestically, enter federal buildings, or enter military bases. State Senator Daylin Leach's office is holding a REAL ID Information Session, where a representative from PennDOT will be in attendance to give a presentation on REAL IDs and answer any questions. Mock Teen Bedroom & Conversation About Substance Abuse 

Thursday, March 21 | 6:00 to 8:00PM

In partnership with the Upper Merion Area School District, and the Montgomery County Office of Drug & Alcohol, the Upper Merion Township Police Department will host a “Mock Teen Bedroom,” which provides insights and education about the possible signs of substance use, misuse, or addiction. Additionally, there will be guided conversation about the reasons people become addicted, what puts people at risk, what protects us or our loves ones, signs that someone has progressed from substance use to addiction, and how to respond when we are concerned about someone’s substance use. KOPSC Spring 2019 Intramural Soccer

Spring Intramural Soccer registration is open! This is a beginner soccer program for boys and girls ages 5-9. No travel is involved. The program focuses on basics and fun! The Upper Merion Community Cupboard!

The Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard is in need of food donations and volunteers!

Food needed this week:

  • Jelly
  • Fruit cans
  • Pancake mix/syrup
  • Ritz crackers
  • Juice bottles and boxes  

Food donation bin locations:

  • Outside the UMACC doors
  • UM Community Center
  • UM Township Building (outside of the Library)
  • Rep. Tim Briggs’ office

UMACC is sustained by caring and compassionate community volunteers. Volunteers are needed for Tuesday evenings to help our patrons shop for food, and Thursday evenings to help stock our shelves. Neighborhood Meals on Wheels Needs Your Help! 

Neighborhood Meals on Wheels has been delivering nutritious and affordable meals to the home-bound of Upper Merion Township, the Borough of Bridgeport, and the Borough of West Conshohocken since 1974. Local residents deliver the meals Monday to Friday, and conduct a friendly visit and security check on its patrons. For more information, call 610-265-7051 or 


Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) Update

The EAC is conducting research into plastic bag bans and considering options for Upper Merion Township. Such initiatives can make a substantial dent in the amount of plastic litter in the environment, and are proving successful in many other municipalities and countries throughout the world. Bus Trip to Dutch Apple Theater

Roadway Restrictions & Alerts

Brownlie Road Bridge

Due to the increased deterioration of the Brownlie Road Bridge side walls, for safety reasons, the township will be closing the road until a permanent repair can be made. The bridge is located between Avon Road and Redwood Road in the Lowell Hills section of the township. A detour will be provided which will utilize the use of Henderson Road and Beidler Road. The restoration plans are nearing completion, and the emergency stream permit has been filed with the Department of Environmental Protection. The project is anticipated to go out to bid by mid-Spring. Learn more. | 610-265-2600
