Unfortunately, we could not hold a live RUN this year and went virtual. CARA supporters are the BEST runners and ran virtually in North Carolina and many other states to support us. We raised close to $2200! Check out some pictures online at #caravirtual2020,  #cararunfortheirlives or www.cara-nc.org/run.

As you know, we had to transition many of CARA's events to virtual events. We moved our very popular in-person Auction online in June and had our second online Auction in September. Both were fun and easy! Our awesome venders in September were Pampered Chef, Origami Owl, Scentsy, 31, ColorStreet, Country Attic Crafts, and new vendor Norwex! It's a fun and easy way to help CARA without leaving your house.

Our next Online Auction is Sunday, December 6th from 3pm - 4pm on Facebook Live!

Please save the date for May 8, 2021, where we can once again RIDE for Their Lives!

Sponsor of the Month

Life 103.1 is CARA’s Sponsor of the Month. Life is a delightful station to listen to and they have been major supporters of CARA for many years. They get the word out to central North Carolina on CARA events saving us time and money to focus on caring for our animals. Hope you enjoy the variety of tunes that they play over the airwaves as much as we do! Thank you Life 103.1 for all you do for our community!

Friends of CARA,

We are so excited at CARA to show off our new mural! It is so beautiful! An artist, Heather Eck, did this for us to celebrate all the wonderful people that adopt from us. It will be the background for photos when a CARA animal has been adopted and is going to their furever home.

Heather put her heart and sole into this project. Here are ways to reach out to Heather and see her art!

Our December Quarters for CARA has been cancelled, but we are thinking positively about 2021 and will be planning our events soon. Stay tuned!

Just a reminder, the holidays are coming and most of you will be doing some shopping on Amazon! Please consider supporting CARA by shopping at smile.amazon.com. A portion of your purchase helps us care for our animals at no extra cost to you! That’s a simple way to make a difference.

 Thank you for your support!

CARA's Kittens
"When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, 'tis near Halloween." - Unknown Author

CARA wanted to feature all our kittens! These little ones may seem like they may be having fun in our cat room, but they desperately want to find their own furever homes. They've seen many of their role models getting adopted and have tried to emulate their behaviors with no luck. Our black kittens are hoping for some luck since October is their month! The other three are hoping the same luck will rub off on them too. All these kittens are young enough to get use to being dressed up as cute little pumpkins for Halloween! They've said they are sweet as candy and will help keep the goblins and ghouls away. They will be your gargoyles and protect your castle. If your house and family need protection from the creepy beings hiding in the shadows, these tough, strong, sweet, and cute kittens will do the job well!

Fill out an application today for one or more of these little protectors, who are patiently awaiting for their forever family. If you want to know more information about these kittens and their friends, call 919-774-9433 or email cara@cara-nc.org.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsoring a CARA dog and/or cat is another option to support CARA since our fundraisers have either been canceled or moved to be virtual. We are featuring certain CARA animals that need sponsors to help cover their care while they are with us. We are asking for $100 total per animal. This covers the animal's spay/neuter and feeding them.

Call CARA at 919-774-9433 to inquire about Sponsorship opportunities! Many of our kittens are coming of age and will need to spayed/neutered before they go home. This is another way to help CARA and the animals we care for until they find their forever homes!
