IFL Educates through the Summer & Fall

Every day we are thinking about new, more, and different ways to reach Iowans with our mission of LIFE.  It's not a mission that takes time off or slows down.  It's a mission driven with a purpose. Each day life is lost; we must do more.  Read about what we have done and events coming up and how you can join us.  We need you!
The Contraception Contradiction
Steve Tatz, IFL Board Member and Theology of The Body Instructor and Cassi White, FertilityCare Practioner at Vitae Family Clinic in Des Moines gave a talk this summer on IFL's Rooftop on the dangers of contraception, the beauty of John Paul II's Theology of the Body, and the blessings of Natural Family Planning.  We hope this will be the first of many educational sessions on these vital topics.
Iowa State Fair
IFL's booth at the fair was a hit.  We gave out 3,000 teen bags, 3,000 #EveryLifeMatters bracelets, 2,500 12-week babies, 1,000 IFL pens, brochures, and tattoo's by the thousands.  Close to 500 people took our pro-life quiz and 1,000 people signed our petition for life.  Our volunteers were simply amazing at engaging everyone that passed by our booth.  By far our biggest outreach opportunity, we know that we are touching the lives of everyone that passed by our booth.
IFL Launches Pro-Life Curriculum in Catholic School
Since February, we have been hard at work researching Respect Life Curriculum's in hopes of presenting to area Catholic Schools.  Just this last week, IFL was able to bring Whole Life Curriculum to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in West Des Moines.  IFL Executive Director Maggie DeWitte, developed a committee which included Adam Storey, Director of Marriage & Family Life for the Diocese of Des Moines, and John Huynh, Director of Faith Journey for the Diocese of Des Moines (both pictured above), as well as many others.  St. Francis will implement this curriculum into their religion classes in the month of October.  Our goal is to make this curriculum state-wide within the Catholic Schools!  More to come on this exciting new endeavor.
6th Annual Fundraising Banquet
The Keynote for IFL's dinner this year is Director of Apologetics & Evangelization at Catholic Answers, Tim Staples.  Tim was raised a Southern Baptist, fell away from the faith, then returned during his late teens through the witness of Christian televangelists.  His talk is titled: "Black & White in a World of Grey."
