Springfield needs you...Biomass will hurt all of us!!!
Help reach out to MA legislators on Tuesday, December 22nd from 3:30PM - 6PM to oppose harmful biomass in our state!  The 2050 Climate Roadmap Bill currently lists biomass electricity plants as “non-carbon emitting” sources of energy, which is false. Wood-burning biomass incinerators emit more CO2 than burning fossil fuels. This bill as written would pave the way for Palmer Renewable to build a biomass plant in East Springfield, which would further pollute the air in an economically distressed Environmental Justice community known as the “Asthma Capital of the US''. It would also open the door to other potential biomass facilities in Massachusetts, polluting the air there, too.
