18th Annual Christmas Parade of Lights
McKinney Rotary Club's annual parade will include beautifully decorated floats, McKinney
ISD drill teams and bands, antique fire trucks, and of course, Santa! 6:30-8:30 p.m. on the
historic downtown square.The parade is a free, family-friendly event, which has become the focal point for the community during the holiday season.

Santa's Helpers (Thursday)
WFAA-8 is once again coming to McKinney's downtown square for Santa's Helpers. Drop off new, unwrapped toys for ages infant through teen at the Kentucky St. side of the McKinney Performing Arts Center (near the Christmas tree) and enjoy the festive atmosphere of community. 5-8:30 p.m.

Scholastic Book Fair (Thursday-Friday)
Books make great gifts so what better time to take care of some Christmas shopping than at this book fair where you can find great bargains on books of all types and other little stocking stuffer gifts! At the McKinney Community Center, 2001 S. Central Expwy. Thursday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Free to attend.

Caroling on the Square (Saturday)
Sing holiday songs while walking through historic downtown. Meet ath the Roy & Helen Hall Library (101 E. Hunt). Holiday attired is encouraged. The library will provide lyrics and sheet music. 4:30-6 p.m. Free.
It's Santa Time in McKinney!

Breakfast with Santa (Saturday)
Join the Love Life Foundation for a special Breakfast with Santa event with our friends at The Sanctuary Music & Events. Pick an angel from their Angel Tree to help needy children in Collin County this Holiday season. This event is free, and donations are always welcome and benefit the Love Life Foundation. 6633 Virginia Pkwy. 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Santa on the Square (Shown)  Book appointment now for your kids' visit and photos with Santa in his downtown square workshop Fridays-Sundays through Dec. 17. Proceeds benefit Volunteer McKinney.

Letters to Santa: Kids can drop their Letters to Santa in the special vintage 1911 Post Office Exhibit at the Collin County History Museum (300 E. Virginia). 10 a.m .-4 p.m.
A Tangible Knowing: Art by Kim Guthrie (Friday-Sunday)
Local artist Kim Guthrie shares the spiritual encounter she experienced during a recent
sojourn to New Mexico, expressing this sacred moment in watercolor, printmaking and paper
mache art. Exhibit open Friday-Saturday, 6-9 p.m. and Sunday 1-3 p.m. At The Cove, 402 N. Tennessee. Free to attend.

A large, private collection of nativity sets will be on display at Mitas Hill Vineyard and Event Center, open to the public and free of charge. The exhibit will be on display Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 9 p.m., and Sundays noon to 7 p.m. throughout the month.

Dinosaurs Live! (Through Feb. 18) 
Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and nine new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the Heard Museum’s nature trails at the 12th annual Dinosaurs Live! Photo op and play area dinosaurs available too. The dinosaur trail is jogging stroller friendly. Included with admission.

COMING: Holidays at the Heard (Dec. 15-16): Tickets still available for this annual celebration with lights and holiday decor on the trails and Father Christmas and Mother Nature visiting with the kids. Hot beverages and snacks will be available for purchase.

Santa Sightings
There is still plenty of time for the kids (and pets) to see Santa before the big day. 
World War I Exhibit: Honoring the Collin County residents who served 100 years ago. IPads provide interactive experience. Collin County Historical Society Museum, 300 E. Virginia. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free admission.
