Dealer Spotlight:
Reed Associates, Inc.
By Patrick Gibbons

Brothers Alan and David Reed founded Reed Associates in 1971, following in the footsteps of their father and grandfather, Walter Reed. Walter had served the school market since the 1940’s. Reed Associates has worked diligently to carry on the tradition of excellence of those that came before and hope to do the same in the future. Since 2010 Reed and Associates has been our dealer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. New York was added to their territory in 2017. Since 1973, Reed Associates has been a leading provider of laboratory casework & equipment, plastic laminate casework, media center furniture, technology furniture, and classroom furniture to the educational, institutional and healthcare communities.

The Reed Team

  • Michael Weir - CEO
  • William Anderson - President
  • Jason McCoy - VP Estimating
  • Brian Weir - Project Manager
  • William McAllister - Project Manager
  • Ray Matevish – Western PA Sales
  • Michael Rudy - Central Sales

"In 2016 we completed a large project which included the concurrent construction of three new elementary schools. The new schools replaced all nine existing aging facilities in one district. All together 85 trailer loads of casework were required. It was a massive task but Stevens came through with flying colors delivering complete and on time," commented Michael Weir.

Todd Wegman stated, “We knew Reed for some time before they became Stevens Advantage dealers in 2010. For many years we were competitors with Reed as they were dealers for LSI. We always admired their professional acumen and drive to win business, and were pleased to join together to grow both our businesses. They are a trusted resource for architects and general contractors in their area. Together, we’re completing projects efficiently and continuing to grow our share of the casework market.”

Architectural Arts:
"Q" Drawing Success

On July 13th at the request of our Stevens Advantage dealer, Architectural Arts, we attended a scope meeting for the Stem Science Building, at the office of Bergland & Cram Architects. Attending the meeting were Kerry Anderson and Douglas Foreshoe of Bergland & Cram, Brian Tenge with Henkel Construction Co, Tony Pappas the owner’s representative and Architectural Arts representatives Mark Rasmussen and Charles Tiedt. The purpose of the meeting was to review the science casework (A-tech) on NIACC Stem Science Building and to address everyone’s concerns. Utilizing the “Q” drawings we reviewed each elevation noting corrections and changes that need to be made before preparation of submittal drawings. Scoping the “Q” drawings will reduce the need for revising and resubmitting the drawings. This can save time, money and aggravation for everyone. Please consider doing this important step on your next project.
