Krewe of Barkus Mardi Gras Dog Parade
Sunday | 2-5 p.m. | Downtown Square  | Free; $5 to register an entry 
Celebrate your favorite reality TV shows at this year's 17th annual Krewe of Barkus. In past years, more than 250 dogs have participated in the parade alongside more than 4,500 spectators in awe of costumes, creatures and creativity. Krewe of Barkus will feature a parade, vendor booths, interactive activities and more. Parade starts and ends at Chestnut Commons parking garage area on East Virginia.

McKinney, Then and Now Exhibit
Opens Thursday | 10 a.m.-4 p.m. | Free | Collin County History Museum
Fasten your seat belts and travel back in time to focus on McKinney, Texas...Then and Now. Various types of audio/visual aids will be available, including introducing augmented reality. History has never been so fascinating! This exhibit continues into 2020. 300 E. Virginia.

Makana Live at the Sanctuary

The Guitar Sanctuary presents Hawaiian artist Makana. VIP tables with seating for four directly in front of the stage are $150 per table. Downstairs seats (first come, first served) are $25. MRT Presents: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels the Musical

This hilarious battle of con artists, based on the 1988 movie, is now a musical! Lawrence Jameson works the French Riviera and makes his living by talking rich women out of their money. Freddy Benson is a swindler, preying on sympathetic women with stories about his grandmother’s failing health. A hilarious battle of cons ensues. This play is inappropriate for children and early teens due to strong language, suggestive dialogue and sexual innuendo. Friday-Saturday, 8 p.m. Matinee Saturday, 3 p.m.

Magic Planet-oids

The whole family will enjoy this short, kid-friendly presentation called "Magic Planet-oids." These are offered on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and on Sundays at 1:30 p.m. Topics vary and are appropriate for all ages. "Magic Planet-oids" is free with admission and for Heard Museum members.

McKinney Police Ofc. Adam Hamilton Benefit
Friday | 6 p.m.
Help the McKinney Police Association raise money for Officer Adam Hamilton and his family. Food will be provided, silent auction and raffle, and live music by Maylee Thomas and Jon Christopher Davis.

Freedom Peak 1 Fundraiser Supporting Veterans
Saturday | 2-6 p.m.
The Warrior's Keep Freedom Peak 1 program is raising funds for training and a trip for 13 veterans to Mount Kilimanjaro this summer. FREE event; donations accepted. Live music by local artists and a silent auction.
