Spend the day at the McKinney Performing Arts Center learning about all that McKinney has to offer brides and their grooms. Local wedding professionals offering an abundance of services will be on hand to help brides with tastings, floral selections, gifts, trips and everything else involved in the big day. Lee Ann's Bridal on the McKinney square will hold two fashion shows (11 a.m. and 1 p.m.) in the Courtroom Theater. Pick up a goody bag information/discounts. Admission is just $5. 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Achieve your New Year’s Resolution to get more exercise by walking the 16 acres of Third Monday Trade Days this weekend. Shop for trendy clothing and accessories, home décor, antiques, and a wide variety of carnival foods at more than 20 food concessions. Take advantage of the all-weather parking and streets, covered booths, heated Mall, ATMs, and, best of all, bargain prices. 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Free admission; parking is $5 before 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

(Open thru Feb. 21) Encounter the 46-foot T-Rex and eight new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the Heard Museum nature trails. Included in admission to the museum. (If the temperature is 45 degree or colder, the dinos cannot be turned on to make sound and movements.)

The Heard is usually closed on Mondays, but will be open this coming Monday to allow families who have school and work holidays for Martin Luther King Day to spend time enjoying the museum.
