Get Ready for California State Fair Open House
See you in Sacramento, July 21!

We had a great time at the Open House in San Diego and are looking forward to another successful WFA Member Appreciation Reception during California State Fair at Cal Expo in Sacramento. The Open House will be 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the Satellite Wagering Clubhouse with food and drinks provided by Spectra Food Services & Hospitality. The same day will also feature a WFA Service Member Meeting at 9 a.m. in the Wine Garden. During the gathering, we will enjoy the chance to celebrate WFA Day at California State Fair, RECONNECT with our fair friends and get excited about Reno 2017!

Keynote Sneak Peek: RECONNECT
WFA Convention 2017

The Western Fairs Association Convention & Trade Show will provide an opportunity to RECONNECT in Reno, Jan. 15-18. We're in the process of planning fun activities, stimulating educational programs, and rockin' entertainment, but wanted to provide a sneak peek of artwork and keynote highlights.

You asked for it! Jim Knight will be back by popular demand, bringing his energy as our Opening Keynote. Knight closed the show last year and all of the feedback read 'We want more!' He'll share the secrets of one of the most successful marketing brands in the world -- Hard Rock Cafe -- and show ways to amp up your own organizational culture and stay relevant with a 'Culture that Rocks.' He's continuing the conversation with a breakout session on Tuesday morning.

The next day, WFA Service Member Elisa Hays shares her inspiring story and takeaways about how to thrive even "when life hits you like a truck." She came back from a tragic accident stronger than ever and we are thrilled to have her on stage at WFA Convention. Hays is a longtime member of WFA and Barham Award-recipient with her hand-washing station concept "Sudsy's Barn."

A note on hotels:

It has come to our attention that members are already being reached out to by companies to book hotel rooms for Convention. These are a scam and are in no way affiliated with WFA. We will have hotel information available for RECONNECT Reno 2017, Jan. 15-18, soon!
