Massachusetts Clean Energy Tour Continues
YOUR VOICE NEEDED TO SUPPORT CLEAN ENERGY POLICY AND PUSH BACK AGAINST FOSSIL FUEL DEVELOPMENT
Our previous newsletter had the address from the Clean Energy Tour Site for the Sprinfield hearing, which was misleading. Though listed on Google as Wilbraham Ave., the Pelligrini-Moot Courtroom is in the S. Prestley Blake Law Center off of Bradley Rd., just south of Wilbraham Rd.

These hearings are a good opportunity to voice your opinion on important environmental issues, such as stopping new gas pipelines and their accompanying compressor stations, LNG facilities and gas-burning electric plants, eliminating other high-carbon emissions generation like wood-burning biomass, keeping utilities from penalizing homeowners pursuing clean energy options, and boosting truly clean energy production and grid-scale storage for these systems. These hearings are your chance to bring your concerns and ideas directly to the MA Senate Committee. Reference to views on existing bills in the Legislature isn’t necessary, but very much appreciated by the Committee.

CONNECTICUT ENERGY POLICY
Support Senator Winfield's Amendment
Stop the pipeline once and for all. Connecticut’s energy future is at stake. Our actions now will determine the path forward. This week, we urge legislators to support the Winfield-Rosario Amendment to ban the pipeline tax. The Amendment will protect the people of our state from the risks of new gas pipeline development, including the $6.6 billion cost and the addition of even more fossil fuels in the future. It is time to stop the pipeline once and for all.
Multi-State Climate Alliance Forms After U.S. Withdraws From Paris Agreement
Call to say "Thanks - and say no to new fossil fuel development"
This launching of the Climate Alliance is the perfect time to contact our Governors and thank them for joining, and then remind them that this commitment should obligate them to take fossil fuel development off the table in their state. Though some, like Governor Baker, like to wash their hands of any influence over these projects, citing federal preemption, there are solid steps they can take in advising their state regulatory agencies to deny the needed state permits and to move solidly forward with state legislation mandating stronger energy efficiency and ambitious goals for reaching 100% rewnewables. (See stories about MA & CT legislation above!)
