Thanksgiving

I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. (Philippians 1:3-5)

St. Paul’s words are my own as I reflect on my installation yesterday as Dean of Trinity Lutheran Seminary at Capital University. While I have been in office since January 1, there is a power in the church’s rite of installation, as scriptural counsels are read and as one makes solemn promises to accept the responsibilities of office, with God’s help.

Words are inadequate to express thanks to all those whose hard work and careful planning resulted in such a joyous celebration. It is good to be surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, both those physically present and those present only in spirit and prayer. I thank God for you, and I look forward to our work together.

Pictures from the installation are available on Trinity's Facebook page.

Dean Kleinhans’ inaugural address can be viewed here.
