Cantabile/Ragazzi: Our final concert on June 3
Hi All!
Thanks for your great feedback in thinking about our final concert. I'm really looking forward to getting back together to make music this Saturday night!

We decided to reprise the music only from The Snow Goose (with instruments, of course).

Singers--the program is below. I don't know that we'll for sure do everything on this this, but I know we won't do anything not on this list. (So no, we are not reprising Jingle Bells in June...) Please make sure you have your music organized and have what you need (including The Snow Goose) in your binders.

Selections to be chosen from the following:
Come Away, Death...Roger Quilter (1877-1953)
“Now Until the Break of Day” (from A Midsummer Night’s Dream)...Benjamin Britten (1913-1976)
Suscepit Israel (from Magnificat in D, BWV 243)...Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)
Love is a Rain of Diamonds...Gwyneth Walker (b. 1943)
No Time...Camp meeting songs, arr. Brumfield

Four Arms, Two Necks, One Wreathing...Thomas Weelkes (1575-1623)
Come Away, Death...Gerald Finzi (1901-1956)
And Draw Her Home with Music… Nancy Hill Cobb (b. 1951)
The Witching Hour...Braeden Ayres (b. 1989)
Seigneur, je vous en prie...Francis Poulenc (1899-1963)
Zion’s Walls...Traditional American song, setting by Aaron Copland (1900-1990)
Brothers, Sing On...Edvard Grieg (1843-1907)

Ave Verum Corpus...William Byrd (1543-1623)
Selections from The Snow Goose...Scott Gendel (b. 1977)
    Something Told the Wild Geese
    Whence She Came
    Hiding from the Moon
    A Slender, Grime-Covered Child
    A Sense of Loss
    Watch O’er Him
Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal...Traditional shape-note, arr. Parker

Finally, concert details for this Saturday, June 3:
5:30-6:30pm Rehearsal
7:00pm concert (Free and open to the public; freewill donations taken)
Holy Wisdom Monastery (4200 County Highway M, Middleton)
Dress nicely (but no need to wear your MYC concert wardrobe). Ragazzi--nice shirt/nice pants is just fine; no ties/jackets required. Cantabile--same thing; wear nice, weather appropriate clothes.
We'll be turning in music after the concert.
