Trends in Rural Ministry at EWALU
Join other ELCA leaders, both rostered and lay, for this day-long event on October 18, to understand and respond to the challenges - and unique opportunities - in smaller and rural congregations.

The presenter, Rev. Dr. Mark Yackel-Juleen, serves as the Director for Small Town and Rural Ministry at Wartburg Seminary. His wife, Pastor Margaret Yackel-Juleen, is also very experienced in the field as the senior pastor at a 4-point parish (ELCA) in Northeastern Iowa.

There is no cost for attending. Lunch is also included.

Stewardship Snippet

Sept. 9, 2018

James 2:15 – If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill," and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that?

For many of us who have more than we need, it’s very hard to follow Jesus’ command to love our neighbor as ourselves. The questions steward/disciples have to ask prayerfully are “How generous am I, really? Is God calling me to be more generous?”
