We told you we needed to raise $10,000 in a week.
In the middle of a pandemic, in the midst of brutal violence against Black people and people of color, while unemployment continues to rise, and fear and hate seem unchecked, you showed up.
In one week, you raised $23,227.
When we added that to the existing fund and the matching gift, the One Church Fund blew through our $50,000 seed goal. Which means that the application for churches to receive money through the One Church Fund is now open!
The One Church Fund will prioritize churches that are Black, immigrant, poor, unhoused, and unaffiliated, those most hard hit by the pandemic of COVID-19, which only exacerbated longstanding systemic injustice. Read more about the fund and access the application at www.onechurchfund.org/apply
Please help us spread the word about the availability of this fund to those providing most critical ministries. Applications are available in English, Spanish and Portuguese
, with more translations to come.
And because we know that the needs of this current moment is great, we are working hard to continue to raise funds to stretch the reach and power of the One Church Fund. We are currently 71% of the way toward our next goal of $100,000. Can you help us reach it?
Many of the gifts to the One Church Fund are gifts of $25 or $50, and each one helps us to support the future of a congregation and a community.
The Spirit is certainly moving this Pentecost. We pray for new hearts, new systems, and new justice to be born of the Spirit. May we all be part of this rushing wind.
Revs. Laura, Meagan, Kenneth and Carrington
