Blue Ribbon Scholarship Applications Available
Submit by March 3
The Blue Ribbon Foundation is proud to once again be offering two scholarship opportunities for children and grandchildren of WFA members.
Two $2,500 scholarships are available: one for a child or grandchild of a service member whose business has a minimum of five years membership with WFA, and one for a child or grandchild of permanent fair staff of a fair that has been a WFA member for five years or more.
To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, and also be enrolled full-time in an accredited college, university, technical school or community college in the fall of 2016.
We are thankful to Friends of the California State Fair, which manages the application process for Western Fairs. To apply, follow the link below. Once you create an account, be sure to choose the applicable Scholarship Choice -- WFA - owner/key staff's child or grandchild for service member families, or WFA - permanent staff's child or grandchild for fair staff families. Continue following the application process and submit - then check to see if you're eligible for additional scholarships!
Western Fairs scholarship recipients have gone on to be veterinarians, WFA Board Members, and even (in the case of George Soares) WFA Hall of Fame inductees.
With money raised throughout 2015 and at the Blue Ribbon Foundation Live and Silent Auctions at the WFA Convention in Anaheim, the scholarships will be awarded in July for the 2016/17 school year.
