As a reminder, you can see your singer's full semester schedule by clicking on the calendar link in the header section above.

If you need to report an absence or late arrival, please complete the on-line absence form linked in the header section above. As a safety measure, if your singer is not checked in at rehearsal and we have not heard they will be absent, we will call you to verify the absence. The best way to reach us during rehearsals is via the MYC cell phone: 608-770-7464.

We're Celebrating the 'Big Send' This Weekend!

We're excited to see the Facebook fundraisers popping up and the electronic donations trickling in! Congratulations to everyone who has gotten off to a fantastic start!

Con Gioia is currently leading in both the total amount raised and the rate of participation but it's very close between Choraliers, Con Gioia, and Purcell.  Over $4,000 has been raised with just 22 singers collecting donations. That's an amazing amount of money raised by just a handful of our singers. Please participate! These numbers tell the story of how easy it is once you get started. We are counting on everyone to help us reach our goal.

Read the Family Guide for inspiration and set a goal for finalizing and sending/launching your letter/appeal by this weekend (February 24/25).

Quick Reminders:
If you're mailing letters, please include a green donor form with each (if you need more, Ian has them at the rehearsal table).

If you're emailing an appeal please attach a pdf of the donor form (you can download from the IMC webpage.) The green donor forms are required for all donations made by check. It's easiest for all if donations are made online via the button on the IMC webpage--no donor form required for online donations as all the information is collected electronically. Don't forget to include the link if you're sending an email!

Once you've contacted at least one person outside of your immediate family, sign the purple participation form in your packet and bring it to rehearsal this weekend. We'll be celebrating everyone's participation with a treat this week! And, purple slips turned in by Feb. 25 will be included in a drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card!

Not sure whether to use a letter, email or Facebook appeal?
Consider your audience. You know them best.

It's not too late to get started! Pull out your Family Guide, make a plan and send!

Please note: This campaign is for Madison Youth Choirs to help cover the gap between what families pay for tuition and what it actually costs to provide programming. We are raising money for MYC's budget, NOT for the building project (even though that's VERY exciting!). The Family Guide has all the information you need to help prompt what to include in your appeal.

Check out (and share) the IMC webpage in your emails or letters. Donors can give through the donate button and you can see weekly updates on our progress. There are also links to campaign materials if you need extra donor record forms, etc.
Because tuition covers less than 50% of the total cost of participation, fundraising is a necessary part of MYC membership. We count on families to embrace their fundraising contribution goal each year to help cover the tuition gap.

Updated statements were emailed to families last week--thank you for paying attention to your fundraising progress, setting a goal, and participating!
Ragazzi and Cantabile: Rehearsal Link
Cantabile/Ragazzi singers: here's the link to the realized version of  "Common Mind", the Jon Nelson composition we're singing with WYSO musicians in April. It'll be helpful to get a sense of the entire piece and the orchestration throughout.

Wardrobe Fittings for New Singers
New families: thank you for being in touch with Ian regarding your wardrobe fitting. An email was sent to you last week with details on how to set up a fitting appointment. Please email Ian to set that up or to get more information.
Ragazzi: Two Concerts at Capitol Theater in May
As part of our Legacy theme, the singers in Ragazzi have excitedly expressed interest in joining their younger boychoir colleagues in May on their Saturday evening concert. This means Ragazzi will perform both on Saturday evening, May 11, (alone and with Purcell, Britten, and Holst) as well as on Sunday evening, May 12, with Cantabile and Cantilena.

Calendars are updated to add Ragazzi to the Saturday, May 11, dress rehearsal and concert. Please let us know if you have an immovable conflict.
Chicago Children's Choir Visits Britten and Holst
We look forward to welcoming the Chicago Children's Choir to Madison on Saturday, April 27! Britten and Holst will be the host choirs so please mark you calendars. We look forward to joining together in song and making new friendships! Time and place to be determined. Stay tuned!

Minneapolis Youth Chorus | Con Gioia
We also look forward to welcoming the Minneapolis Youth Chorus to Madison on Saturday, May 18. Con Gioia will be the host choir--thank you for marking your calendars (ensemble calendar has already been updated). Time and place TBD.
