Why Shouldn't It Be One of Us?
Nominate Yourself or Someone You Know for the Purpose Prize

I just received a notice about the AARP Purpose Prize — launched originally by Encore.org — which celebrates people 50 and older in the U.S. who tap into the power of life experience to build a better future for us all.

“The AARP Purpose Prize is all about a new story of aging — focusing on experience and innovation and the idea that our aging population is an untapped resource full of possibilities,” says AARP CEO Jo Ann Jenkins.

Five winners will each receive $50,000 awards. And then those named Purpose Prize fellows will receive $5,000 each. Both winners and fellows will receive a year of support to help broaden the scope of their work.

My thought is: Why shouldn't it be a member of the Women At Woodstock community who wins that prize?

Do you know someone who's building a better future for everyone? Or are you one of those inspirational figures on the landscape? If this strikes a chord with you, then act now - nominate yourself or a friend for the prize. I mean, if not someone from our own online community of smart, engaged women over 50, then who??

The deadline for nominations is March 31.
