Project Spotlight
Effingham Public Library, Effingham, Illinois
Effingham Public Library recently moved to a new space, remodeling a former bank building and tripling their square footage.  The vault became a small art gallery, the basement became community meeting space, and the second floor now houses an expansive children and youth wing.  Throughout the building, Stevens Advantage casework and millwork make great use of space.  Finishes used include our Rain and Legno Collections.  Even the doors are clad in high impact laminate matched to the casework.

Notes from Casework Services

Strong Sales Forecast for 2017
J.R. Elder, Vice President of Casework Services reports that the second half of 2016 looks strong, and we are anticipating a strong first half of 2017.  He comments, "We are actively preparing for success in 2017 by adding capacity to all facets of our business.  We ask our dealers to contribute to the planning by sharing information on future projects and opportunities.  Your advance knowledge helps us to plan with greater accuracy.  We value our partnerships and their contribution to our mutual success."
Carl Ethridge Completes StevensDRAW Course

Carl Ethridge, Garner & Associates, recently completed the StevensDRAW course in Teutopolis.  He commented, "I enjoyed not only learning about the StevensDRAW, but how the actual interworking’s of Stevens comes together to produce a submittal document that also drives production. I have already started (3) projects in StevensDRAW and I know it will give Garner & Associates a customer service advantage by allowing us to provide drawings quickly and accurately."

Fewer steps in the interpretation of the end-customer’s desires lead to reduced errors, saving time and costly reworks.  Early estimates indicate that dealer completed drawings can save as much as four weeks in the project timeline.

Stevens Team Presents at LEAN Symposium

Stevens team members recently presented at a lean symposium, at which Paul Akers was the keynote speaker.  Randy Thoele, Cottie Dial and Justin Niebrugge shared some of the steps taken, and processes changed to streamline our operations.  Focus on lean production has been a consistent theme throughout Stevens, and we were pleased to share some of the successes, and what we've learned from some missteps.

Submissions for Project Profiles

Stevens wishes to create a 2016 Year in Pictures book of all casework and millwork projects.  We believe these photo collections to be tremendous sales tools for your fast-moving bidding season.  Your assistance to compile a strong collection is appreciated.

Submit photos to Amanda Emmerich. Please include one outside shot including the building sign, along with five to six interior photos.  If possible, try to hide away boxes, large trash receptacles, ladders and clutter to achieve clean, attractive photos that can be used in marketing.

Stevens Industries, Inc. is celebrating our 60th anniversary in 2016.  Thank you for your support, partnership and friendship through the years.
