This Sunday Pastor Rob will continue in our series on "Upside Down Kingdom"

Matthew 5:1-16

Here's your weekly update for what is going on at Coastside.
Next Sunday
November 19th, 5:30-7:30pm
Stetson Hall

To celebrate the holiday season, let's get together to share some delicious food and fellowship! Feel free to extend the invitation to anyone who would enjoy a warm meal and some good company to come and join us.
Please bring a dish and/or a dessert to share.
In order to make this event a success, we are looking for volunteers to help us with set up/break down. If you are willing to help, sign up here:

IGNITE YOUTH GROUP: there will be no meeting on this night. We will be eating together instead.

This Sunday, November 12th, 7:00-9:00
Page Residence

Ignite Youth Ministries will be participating in Operation Christmas Child again this year. We will be meeting at Page Residence on Sunday, November 12th. Then we will be going on a shopping spree at DollarTree to fill up as many shoeboxes as we can. We are asking those who can to bring $15-$20 to fill up a shoebox on your own. Bring a picture of yourself and include it with a letter to the recipient of your box. For more information, contact Devon Page at

Boxes Due by next Wednesday,
November 15th

We are very excited to be a part of Operation Christmas Child global outreach program. It is a wonderful way to express our love and faith to children throughout the world. As shoebox gifts are distributed, local church leaders present the Gospel in a fun way to the shoebox recipients, their families and friends.
We would like to make sure that all the Operation Christmas Child Boxes have all the items suggested by the organization and that the boxes are not too full or too empty. To give you an idea, these are some of the items that can be included in the boxes: toothbrush, soap, washcloth, coloring book, crayons, markers, colored pencils, notebook, pencils and sharpener, stuffed animal, small toy, t shirt, socks, comb. Please do not include toothpaste or candy as suggested by the outreach program. A $9.00 shipping cost (check made out to Operation Christmas Child or donate online to follow box and place pre-printed sticker on your box) should be included with each box. Boxes are available in the back of Stetson Hall. Please contact Lana Gala at or 650-359-5227 with any questions.

Saturday, December 2, 10:30am - 12:30pm
Stetson Hall

Hey, Coastside Women! Join us for our annual Christmas Tea on Saturday, December 2nd at Stetson Hall. This year we will be doing something new: we ask that you donate $10 (the amount you would normally spend on an ornament for past ornament exchanges). The money we collect will be combined and gifts will be purchased for a family in need living in Pacifica.
We will be collecting the funds between now and November 26th (cash only and in an envelope, please). Then, the purchased gifts will be on display at the tea. As we gather on December 2nd, we will wrap the gifts, make gift cards, write notes of encouragement to the family and pray for them. While we serve in this way together, we will enjoy our tea and brunch goodies, of course!
We will need some of you to decorate a table for the event. It can be any style - classic Christmas, fun or choose! If you are interested in decorating a table or have any questions, please contact Cathy McIlvoy at or Lana Gala at
We look forward to ushering in Christmas with this special time together! Hope you will come!

As we mentioned a few weeks ago, we have been waiting to hear from a group of pastors that are on the ground assessing the long term needs of those affected by the North Bay fires in order to know how we can help. We have heard back from them and what they have come up with is an initiative they are calling “Foster A Family.”
Here’s how it works: Local churches are taking an inventory of all those in their community that are in need. Those families are entered into a central database in order to partner them with a sponsor. We will become a sponsor by collecting money throughout the month of November and then send it to them, at which time they will match us with a family that has need for the amount that we raise. Some families are in need of a very large amount due to lack of insurance, while others are only in need of replacing a vehicle and other essentials not covered by insurance.
Once we send our donation, we will be matched with a family and they will find out who we are and we can also know who they are. 100% of our donation will go to the family and is tax deductible.

You can give in two different ways. The first is to simply drop a check in the offering basket on Sunday’s with a note in the memo section that says “North Bay Fires.” The second way is to go to our website: and click on Give in the upper right hand corner. Click Online Giving then the Quick Give tab, enter your amount and then in the drop down menu choose North Bay Fires, then add your information.

Thank you for generously and sacrificially participating in God’s kingdom work in our own backyard!

Bethlehem A.D. is a community-wide event that celebrates the real meaning and history of Christmas, regardless of denomination, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
It takes over 300 participants and volunteers to make Bethlehem A.D. a reality each year. The producers of Bethlehem A.D. are looking for volunteers to help make this a memorable event to the thousands who have come to make this one of their most treasured traditions of the Christmas season.  They have a place (and job) for anyone willing to donate their time, skills, and talents no matter how skilled or talented you may be.
