Pentecost, 2019

At that first Pentecost, the gathered Church began to live into their gifts.  We know Holy Spirit will not leave nor forsake us! In our time, the Massachusetts Council of Churches sees the wide variety of gifts at work across the Commonwealth.

This Pentecost week, we will be telling three stories of how we are doing work that demonstrates how the combined witness of Christians across Massachusetts is stronger than any one church or denomination could be on their own.

#2: RESOURCING THE WIDER CHURCH
In a time when some churches feel resources are scarce, we seek to use our visibility and organizational skill to live into God’s promised abundance.  Last week, we provided an opportunity for Music Ministers to gather, celebrating their ministry and facilitating conversation on how to lead in difficult times, with the help of musician Paul Van Ness and his Advent cantata “The Tidings.”  We welcomed our newest staff member, Rev. Carrington Moore, who will lead the Lydia Fellows Program for Thriving in Part-time Ministry.  He will be gathering cohorts of part-time pastors for the purpose of building esteem and capacity while offering encouragement and opportunities for continuing education.

We hope you will affirm our unique role by joining us with a financial gift, joining us at our events, and joining us in prayer for one another

In hope,
 Rev. Laura
