Dear Church Family,
For almost 60 years, people have been coming to Camarillo Community Church to worship Jesus. Now, for the first time in our history, we will be coming to you! Starting this Sunday, in response to President Trump’s declared national emergency over the Coronavirus, we will be holding our services 100% online. This will continue for at least two to three weeks, but it could be as much as eight weeks. The truth is we just do not know at this time how long this will go on. It is a fluid situation which keeps changing day by day. Please know that our elder board is closely monitoring this and will be making the best decisions for our church as we go through this together. We are making every effort to comply with the recommendations of the CDC in order to stop the spread of this virus.
In addition to Sunday mornings, we are officially suspending all other ministry groups and meetings. This includes the youth groups, growth groups, and all other ministries. The only exceptions to that will be our food pantry, which will remain open to serve those who so desperately depend on the weekly food that we provide. The Seven C’s daycare will also remain open. The daycare has been in close contact with the state licensing board and Ventura County Public Health. Many of the families still using the daycare are first responders, doctors, nurses, and other professionals who are a critical part of our community’s response to COVID-19.
During this time, please know that our church staff will still be working as hard as ever to serve you. Every ministry has been challenged to find ways to stay engaged with their people via social media or other creative means. Our youth groups are going to post video devotions and testimonies.; they are also going to be utilizing the YouVersion Bible app to engage in interactive group devotionals. Our children’s ministry is sending out weekly emails with a link to the video lesson for each week. They will also be sending helpful ideas of things to do with your children while you are home together.
We would also encourage each growth group leader to start a YouVersion group devotional with the members of your group. This could be a great way to continue to interact and encourage each other spiritually. For those who are not in a growth group, please consider joining this group devotional HERE. This group can accommodate 150 people, so if it fills up, we will start a second one.
We are also starting a special Facebook group called CamCC Cares. If you already like our main Facebook page then you will get an invitation to join this group. The purpose of this group is to provide a forum where our church members can express any needs they have during these difficult times. Others who can help will see these needs and be able to respond. I am hoping that our church body will step up to help each other, especially our elderly and at risk group that really should not be leaving their homes.
I am sure that you may have many questions. Please feel free to contact any of our church staff via phone or email. We are still working and are available. Tune in to our Facebook this Sunday at 9am to be a part of our virtual Sunday gathering. We will also be posting the full high quality version of the video on our website, www.camcc.net. The video should be up by 5pm each Sunday.
