September, Oh September
You wonderful thing, you. September is here and we are all breathing a little easier, driving a bit slower and savoring every last warm breeze, dunk in the ocean, & gilded sunset. The kids are back in school and football is starting up this week. There are little hints of fall swirling about in the air and the light. The pumpkin patch is bursting with color and the reappearance of geese and starlings, synchronized in flight, are a guaranteed vision over the fields and fences each evening.

Here on the farm, we are transitioning from our busiest season to a slower time where we are able to connect with our local community through offering daily lunch specials, custom sandwiches, great sale items, farm events, pick your own tomato days and more. There may be a few less of us to say hi to, but we are here everyday with a smile hoping to share a slower way of life with you, our customers, community and friends. See you on the farm!

Here's to September!

Continues through next week!
YES! Everything! Japanese Maples, Lilacs, Roses, Ivy, Cactus, Hydrangeas, Everything must go! Get a jump on your garden and landscaping this fall by planting blueberries, perennial shrubs, trees, & roses to be ready to bloom for next year!

Plant Seeds Now? Yes You Read That Right
There’s still time to “grow your own” !!! There are many crops that grow quickly and harvest easily that can be sown in September.  Greens, turnips, & radishes all do well with cooler September nights.

Some crops are ready as quick as 35 days, like the Komatsuna and the Tokyo Market Turnip and many more between 45-60 days: Tatsoi, Joker Lettuce, Shanghai Baby Bok Choy just to name a few.

These can be sown now and harvested mid to late October. Some greens can be kept in cold frames into November or even December if the weather remains mild!

Also this year we have seed Garlic Elephant and German red. Plant garlic now for harvest next summer. Enjoy garlic scapes in spring or let them bloom for some great color!
Come in a see what we have available.
Farm Grown Goodness
Some of your Farm Favorites are winding down; Zucchini and Golden Zucchini are done for the year, the last of the melons are in, head lettuce needs to grow a bit more before harvesting, but keep checking back! Peppers and tomatoes are still going strong.
Our mini varieties are perfect to stash in a lunch box for little hands!
The next few weeks will bring the flavors of fall with potatoes and Winter Squash just around the corner...
Between work, packing lunch for the kids, after school activities and attempting to spend the remaining days of summer playing outdoors, the week can get hectic! Check out these quick, easy and healthy, veggie-packed recipes to make the most out of summer produce and your precious evenings!

While the big kids are back in school, the littles still have plenty of beach time! Luv Bug towels are perfect for the younger set. Available flat or hooded, these lightweight towels are super absorbent and offer UPF 50+ UV Protection.

Sand doesn’t stick and they dry super fast! I love how compact they are, perfect for sticking in your bag when there may be water play. Love everything about these towels, except for how hard it was to choose between all the cute patterns. (Finally went with the mermaids for my little girl.)
