Worship: 8:30 & 10:45 am
Education 9:30 am
Epiphany

Scripture: Matthew 2:1-12

The wise men, y'all. They're baaaaa-aack. (Said in spooky Poltergeist voice, because I am a child of the 80s).

If you've been at Saint Andrew for awhile--or if you are new and very observant-- you will notice that our Wise Men do not join the nativity scene near the sanctuary until Epiphany, which we celebrate this Sunday. Throughout the rest of the Advent and Christmas seasons, they journey through the hallways, making their way a bit closer each week. The long-running joke around here is: I think they are very, very creepy. Especially if you're here after dark. In an empty- or near-empty building. I mean, you never know where they're going to show up next! They could be waiting around any corner! They seriously weird me out.

But they are also very cool. I love how they move through the building, reminding us that the journey is more than the destination.

And that, as they say, will preach. I'm looking forward to being with you in worship on Sunday, and celebrating our 5 years of ministry together. I'm mindful that we are on a journey together that is about more than any destination. Along the way, we encounter the love of God made visible, and we witness to the light of Christ made known in the world.

One of these days, maybe we'll get where we're going. In the meantime, it's been a joy and a privilege to be with you along the way.

Peace,
Erin

Creating Peace In Your Space with Joanie Nicholas
If you are tired of living in a home that makes you feel stressed instead of refreshed this workshop is for you! Our lives have stages and what we keep in our homes should reflect and support our current place in life. We’ll explore the mindset shifts that will allow you to let go of items that no longer serve you and you’ll learn some great organizing tips to keep your house in order. Come be inspired to open your space, your mind, and your heart to discover what God put you on earth to accomplish.

Home Organizing Coach Joanie Nicholas takes a holistic approach to helping Kansas Citians transform their cluttered homes into peaceful sanctuaries by integrating physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects into her work. For over 20 years she has guided her clients in creating lasting, positive changes to their space.

Mission & Outreach
The Saint Andrew Mission Team resolves to seek God, create community and practice justice by actively promoting congregational engagement in the community, both locally and globally.

City Union Mission Sandwich Project Update
In true Saint Andrew fashion, we exceeded our goal of making 250 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches last Sunday. A hard working group comprised of people of all ages made 331 sandwiches! When they were delivered to City Union Mission Monday morning, they weighed in at a whopping 121 pounds of food that will make a difference in the lives of many people at the close of 2018 and the start of 2019. There were some leftovers and those will be taken to Center of Grace where the generosity of our congregation will make an additional impact.

Thank you for all the donations and work that went into this very important project – a manifestation of Jesus’ love.

Associate Pastor of Caring Ministries
