A Message From LTNA President, Brad Reinhardt

Hello North America. All good in your world? The winter here in the Midwest has already been too long and too cold. Thankfully business and freight has stayed much warmer.

LTNA has a lot of new things to roll out for 2019. Planning for Nashville 2019 is already underway.  Looking ahead we'll be in Savannah, GA in 2020 & San Diego, CA in 2021 (seems very odd to be typing 2020?!?!). We have a new Advertising Program described below and our Scholarship Campaign will be rolled out next month.

We've grown to over 25K members and we're constantly looking to improve.  Our Board is totally made up of volunteers and I appreciate all their hard work. Please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions, or want to get involved.

Please be safe this winter.

Brad Reinhardt

A Measure of Market Fluctuations in Truckload Costs

"We expect continued nominal price increases in the coming months, but slightly lower percentage increases as comparisons grow increasingly tough," stated Donald Broughton, analyst and commentator for the Cass indexes. "Our realized pricing forecast for 2019 is now 2% to 5%." To read more, visit Cass Truckload Linehaul Index

Monthly Supply Chain Digest

From the January Supply Chain Digest, "Market fluctuations tend to reduce the available trucks to haul your load, increasing your cost and the potential of late deliveries to your customer. The leverage you have as a shipper may be used to buy a truck at a higher contracted rate to offset what may be happening in the market." Read more on the 'Internal Actions to Secure Truck Capacity at the link below.

The monthly digest covers trends, industry news, market indexes and current happenings throughout the industry. To sign up for the monthly digest, email Stace Knabel at marketing@ltna.org.
