The Pairing Series "Hues and Blues"  John Bramblitt + Cast of Blues

The first exhibit in the Pairing Series, "Hues and Blues" pairs paintings by world renowned blind painter John Bramblitt with The Cast of Blues Exhibit from Midwest Arts Alliance featuring interactive touchable casts by sight impaired sculpturer Sharon McConnell-Dickerson.  9 a.m.-8 p.m.
 
 
 
 
 
Milligan Vaghan Project Concert 
(Friday)
The Guitar Sanctuary is proud to present a special double bill with the Milligan Vaughan Project (MVP) and special guests, the Maylee Thomas Band. Tables with seating for four directly in front of the stage, $150 per table. Downstairs Seats (First come, First Serve), $25. General admission (first come, first serve in balcony), $10. The following events are taking place as part of Second Saturday when art is featured.

LAST Art Gallery: Featuring Mary Hannigan. (See sample at right) Meet Mary from 7-9 p.m. Refreshments served. 30 local area artists original works are on display in the gallery. Gallery open from 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. 105 W. Virginia.

Orisons Art & Framing: Featured artists are Maggie Golinski and Melinda Whitten from Saturday, Aug. 12- Sept. 2. Reception Saturday from 7-10 p.m. Wine and small bites provided. 110 E. Louisiana.

TUPPS Brewery: Artists in the North Dallas area show off their work and sell pieces at the brewery. Come out and support local! Free admission.  11 a.m .-5 p.m. with brewery tour at 12:30 p.m. and live music from 1-4 p.m. Food trucks onsite. 721 Anderson just south of the Cotton Mill.
 
 
 
 
 
.Food Truck Fridays at Trinity Falls
(Friday)
Food truck fare is on the menu at Trinity Falls, giving foodies a chance to fall in love with a variety of mobile eats from 5-8 p.m. The rolling restaurants will be parked at The Club, 7801 Trinity Falls Parkway, while a DJ, a bounce house for the kids, lawn games and other activities will add to the family fun. The food trucks attending this week: Aunt Shirley’s Chicken & Waffle Truck, Rick’s BBQ and SkewU.

Story times are designed for young children with a different nature-themed book each week. 30-45 minutes. 10:30 a.m.
 

Native Texas Butterfly House & Garden (Now Open)
Walk among free-flying native butterflies and other pollinators in our Native Texas Butterfly House & Garden, which opens for its summer season on Saturday. This exhibit is open during regular operating hours.

Zip Line Day (Saturday)
Guests climb a 23 ft. tree to the zip platform, then proceed to a 487 ft. zip line. Purchase one ticket ($12 each) for each time you would like to travel down the zip line. Pre-reservations required and are close to selling out.
