Class for Lay Persons and Rostered Ministers

May 19

“Church Administration for the Uninterested.” The class will be offered on Saturday, May 19, from 9:00 a.m. until noon at the Lutheran Center, 2354 Grove Road, Allentown. Any member or friend of one of our congregations is welcome to attend. And for this session only, rostered ministers are welcome as well. The cost is $10 and can be paid the morning of the event; but you must register by Wednesday, May 16 by contacting Pastor Mary Gade at 610-266-5101 or maryg@nepsynod.org.

Church administration doesn’t matter at all—until you don’t do it and find yourself in the middle of a mess. This workshop will explore the questions that administration answers: Who? How? How much? How many? What if? Every congregation needs to deal with those questions, and there’s a reason “minister” and “administration “ come from the same roots. Feel free to bring your administrative concerns and problems for discussion. The class will be led by the Rev. Dr. Catherine Ziel, former Synod Administrator.
